Super Jet My ski stalls when close to full throttle.

My ski used to blow my coupler and come apart a lot from overheating. I found out that all my jets on my factory b pipe Jets were clogged. My bottom was stuck so I closed the top and opened the middle to 3/4 turns out.... Ski runs but now it stalls when I go full throttle. It stalls a lot. Is there to much water and causing it to stall?

Fix the issues you know u have with it then turn in back to they starting tune point . See if it clears the issue . Why are u blowing the coupler over tightening the bands ? and over hearing so much ? Dual cooling ?
Side note ski shouldn't over heat . Did u ever fix that issue or just keep riding it and putting the coupler back on ?
Can u ride it and then stop and touch the pipe ? Does it burn you ?

Yeah for the longest time I just kept on putting the coupler back on and sometimes replacing it. didn't think anything of it. So that means for a long time it ran hot. Now it's running cool. I can put my hand but it's still hot. No sizzling...,so now it stalls. I'm on the wTwr now. It runs for a little then stalls. It hurts cause I hit the bars or fly over.

Might be a dumb question but are your carb(s) clean ? First time out this season ? Plugs white or chocolate
Hard to start ? Loosing fuel pressure ?

I'll check the carb and plugs were chocolate I changed them out. Yes haven't ridden in a while but started every now and again. Sat for months with random start ups in the garage

To read plug chop you need to run at full throttle for a while then kill the engine. Idling is going to change the color. You might also try opening your high screw 1/4 turn and see if it gets better. If it gets worse turn it 1/4 in.

Have you considered you might be too lean on the carb h/s needle adjustment, or have gummed up jets? That can cause sudden and immediate shut down at speed.

Running to wot, then having a loss of rpm is a sign of being lean. Stalling at wot is not stalling but a lean seizure. You should check you compression, and when you have your exhaust manifold off, look in the port for piston damage. You may not see piston damage however, as it could be 4-point seizure and be on either side of the port not visable.

Hopefully it's just stalling, but you need to be careful. Might not be a bad idea to check the case for leaks (leak down test). It's easiest to just start with the carbs but you need to be careful before you end up $300 into a new top end.

Either your main jet is too small, your fuel system is dirty or theres water in the tank. flush the tank, pull apart and clean the carbs and post what the carbs jetting is on here.

No reason to replace your carbs unless they are somehow damaged. Do you have a popoff tester? Clean them good, rebuild them if your internals are no good, set them up properly and tune them.

The title ski stalls close to wot makes it sound like not enough gas. The first post about couplers coming a part makes me think exh leak.

Was it ever running good with the pipe?
