650/X-2 My ski will only turn to the right

So handeling to the left is virtually non existant. When i turn to the right its sharp and concise. Any immediate thoughts? Im still learning with this thing but have needless to say gotten really good at carving to the right only.

Sounds like your the outer casing of your steering cable is busted.

I'm guessing you have a Direct Steer X2. Your steering cable is bent, and when you try to turn right, it's bending as opposed to pushing the nozzle. When you turn left, it pulls it's self straight, and pulls the nozzle.

So i went and looked at my linkage today and it does not look bent. And if it bends when it pushes, which is to the right, then shouldnt my steering be worse going to the right as theres more give to the right than when pulling to the left? if all rad dude does is sleve it then ill find my own sleve with the perfect ID to fit over the widest portion at the base. Or weld two together for each ID. I cant justify spending 50 bucks for a short little sleeve. Thanks for the help.

No. When you turn to the right it pulls the cable, so it doesn't bend. When you turn to the left it pushes the cable so it does bend. It's the tension / compression thing about steel. Have someone hold the nozzle while you turn the bars.

You don't need to buy the rad dudes fix. Just get a piece of aluminum tubing that's almost the same inner diameter as the outer diameter of the inner part of the cable. Slide it over the cable and use a piece of cooling line and 2 hose clamps to hold it in place.

Take off your nozzle setup and check it out. I recently had the same problem, and it was because the trim ring on my x2 nozzle popped off the reduction nozzle on one side.

I made my own version of the rad dudes steering cable fix. I used a very ridged piece of stainless steel tubing with hoses and clamps. Didn't cost me anything to make.

Good suggestion. I had that happen to me once too. Mine stopped working completely though.

If you haven't fixed it yet I know exactly what it is same exact thing happened to my old 650sx, the steering cable in the handle pole under the turn plate came disconnected and it should not be moving free, so reconnect it and it should work hope that helps if you haven't fixed it yet
