Super Jet My SN superjet sunk...now it won't run!

So I took my SN superjet camping and I let it float over night. I let it sit for 3 hours in the water before I went to bed and didn't notice a change in depth. I was worried about 5 a.m. and took a peek out of the tent (It was thunder/lightning 30 minutes before) and could only see the about 2 feet of my ski stinking out of the water. I got out of the tent and jumped in the water to save it. I pulled it back in where I used my bilge to pump out the water. Anyway, I pulled the plugs and turned over the engine and a lot of water came out. I tried to start it and it ran. It took awhile but it ran. I rode it around and it felt like it had a loss of power and was cutting out. I rode around a little long and it got slower and slower and eventually died and would not start. The only idea I have is to change the spark plugs and drain the gas and try to run it. Does anyone have any other suggestions on what I can do? I would like to fix the leak...any idea's on why it leaked and where from? It was fresh water.

try draining the gas and putting in fresh gas, also clean the carbs out and see if any water is still in there?

just incase any water is still in the bottom of the engine flip the ski upsidedown pull the plugs and turn it over a few times until nothing is comming out of the cylinders. try those and see what happens after that

My knowledge of engines is minimal, but have you checked the reeds? Cleaned out the ebox? Since it sat submerged for awhile I would swap out new gas to avoid headaches, and blow out your fuel lines with a compressor. I know other people on here with more knowledge will chime in, but that's what I would do first.

You need to keep it whole and keep pulling plugs, flipping upsidedown and hold stop button while cranking. Then put one finger or thumb over each plug hole until ALL the water is out. Drain gas tank completely. Fresh gas.

This happened to me, leave the ski inverted for about an hour with plugs out. Hit start while it's inverted to blow water out of the motor. Flip it, fresh gas, fresh plugs and fire it up.

Ok I will drain the gas and flip the ski over. I did something so stupid before I went camping. I went to the river to test it out and I stupidly left the gas cap off under the gas cover. I didn't see it because it was covered. The ski ran but got worse and worse. Thanks guys!

Any idea why it would take on water? We left our piece of crap '85 JS550 out on the water for a couple days and never had a problem. My SJ is upside down in the back of my truck right now.

I don't think 30 minutes of rain will sink a ski.

Anyway, i flipped it over and tried starting it but nothing happened. It still won't run. I poured some gas in the carb and it fired. I checked for spark and it does spark. Any other suggestions? I'm going to pull the carb and clean it.

I just inverted it again and drained everything out. The first time I didn't remove the plugs (I was drinking) and this time a lot came out. I turned it back over and it started right up. I revved it up a couple times and it died. It kinda sounded lean to me. I took off the fuel line to the carb and there was nothing in it. And there was nothing in the fuel filter either. I sucked on that hose and got fuel to the carb but still no luck. It seems like the carb isn't drawing fuel. I'm not sure what to do at this point.

I took the carb apart and cleaned it before this.

I can suck gas from the tank using my mouth and gas comes out fine. The petcock has been turned in every direction possible. Should I try a new set of plugs again? I hooked up the fuel line from the tank directly to the carb and no difference.

No need to drain the gas. Take off the fuel line that goes to the carbs, hold out over board, and blow into the cHeck valve. It will pressurize the tank and if there ours water out will create asiphon and push the water it. Once all the water is done you will deer gas start to come out. Hook the likes back up and run out. Hook Jumper cables up to the motor while your cracking so you don't kill your battery
