I'm already liking the sound of those 90's colors......then again, if you remember how I painted the wife's SN then you already knew that LOL!
I could custom paint this but I may not be keeping it so I have to look at it from that aspect.I'm already liking the sound of those 90's colors......then again, if you remember how I painted the wife's SN then you already knew that LOL!
I actually did that on the STS I built earlier this year.My vote is OEM (retro) look with your custom colors you already have but maybe break up the colors like on the old school wr500............
Paint job on my first SJ:Sanding, sanding and more sanding , this part sucks.
Every damn standup I have done lately has crappy paint that has to be totally removed , BTW this Metton sucks , give me SMC any day of the week over this crap , it sands funky it's messy and it weighs a ton , this is one heavy a$$ pig of a hull even with the aluminum handlepole.
Maybe this is the ski I need to give the wooden look , I mean hey it's already brown. .
Kinda hard when there is an orange right there on the decal ! at any rate , he sent me the revised graphics with the changes I asked for, I believe we have a winnah !Then throw that purple in there instead!
F the 180 , I am using 60 grit on the DA as I will be spraying with high build Urethane primer, I was using 80 grit and it was taking way too long , I want some serious tooth to hold the primer on , then the primer will hold the paint on , the way Yamaha did this paint is ludicrous and the black paint someone sprayed on top of it was just nasty.
I am probably doing a color change as well I just remembered today that I have almost a full Quart of Yamaha Teal in Nason polyurethane , it's one of my favorite Yamaha colors, I am thinking Teal ski with a white bottom and maybe some purple accents.
This hood in the pic below is Yamaha teal.
Thanks, a friend of mine ordered that Carter B rockered nose for his RN along with a bunch of other parts then he promptly broke his leg on the ski .Yes, yes and yes. I recently listened to an interview with Neil "Neilski" Bollmann and he says that he always used 60 grit on skis and then hit them with epoxy primer. I had no idea you could get it that rough and then spray the primer but it totally makes sense. The epoxy will fill all the scratches and hold extremely well. This ski looks great, I love the nose on this thing!!! Really great work
I just really that you kept the bond rail around the nose. I personally can’t stand the look of the Carter nose where people just chop the rails and leave them.
To me the nose looks more like a Superfreak now which is a good thing.
Not lately , I am trying to finish the 300SX and the 650SX customer build but yeah it's been hella busy here .Any time to work on this thing at all?
