:banghead: Maybe I will see if he can just give me my $$$$ back for the rideplate.

I left him a message today.... guess I will see what happens..... this sport is getting expensive.... going big doesnt come cheap :purr:

Dont get me wrong the performance is great..its just not stiff enough..or my pump may be shimmed down farther than most..but if it was stiffer there wouldnt be a problem..

Jeff would probably be hard to get ahold of (as he has been in the past) and will probably send him a new hood, although Cracker will probably have to wait awhile to receive it.

Personally, I am glad that Cracker posted his problem with the hood. If there is a production problem, it will give Jeff an opportunity to repair it and prove how good his customer service is and also give him the opportunity to improve on his product (if that is actually necessary).

It might be a fluke that snuck through quality control or it might indicate that improvements are necessary for someone that pushes it as hard as Cracker.

Time will tell.

Same here. I know he makes good stuff but if something is amis he needs to know so he can fix the problem.

I didnt mean it as keeping a secret, more of a talk to the builder first kinda deal...

Jeff is aware and is will make it right. I dont even know if cracker knows this yet,..but he will.

I got this info today from a trustworthy little bird

Waterdawgs old hoods would come apart quite easily, the problem was said to be fixed. By far the strongest hoods on the market are lightweight, but it is out of most peoples budget.

cracker, when i talked to jeff today he said he was going to send you a new hood with a return shipping label so that he can see what went wrong with this one for future reference,im not sure what more you could want.

also he was in no way trying to make excuses for this but he told me that he built this hood light as per your request.it is my understanding that your hood is about as light as you can get without going prepreg.

so i think the moral of this story is,if you want featherweight AND bulletproof then you have to pony up and spend some more money

I really don't get it, why does Jeff give customer updates through other customers that post it on here?

Seriously, mile9c1 was told his hull was shipping by someone else, not Jeff, and this, and it's happened several other times. What is wrong with a phone call? I really just don't understand, that is horrible customer service, these guys deserve better.

Fair enough. How much did you pay for your hull? :sneaky: :haha:

J/K, butti. I know you ordered a strong hull.

Good to here.

I thought all of Jeffs budget hoods were right about 13lbs? "mine is 12lbs 10oz". Nicks, Scotts, and my hoods all looked very close, and felt like they all weighed close.... Jeff new I was going to be learning backflips, starting to do roles, and riding surf.

AS I STATED...... I have been hard on my boat.

If I were to do it all over again I would have spent more $ on upgraded materials rather then the chopper gun layup that I spent $650 on..... There is not much cost in materials for this hood.

The fit and finish on this hood is great though. And I know the quality of all his work is awsome! I know for more money I could have got alot higher quality of hood through Jeff..... but when I ordered the hood I didnt realy know enough about composites, And I should have asked him the layup.

I guess its just one of those things..... you get what you pay for.

Im not mad or trying to bash..... just posting my experience..... I thought thats what forums are for.
