FX-1 My Winter FX1 Build

Its pretty much done now but thought I would post it anyways.

Over the winter I widened the tray, added footholds, 144mm pump conversion, factory pump shoe was widened and epoxied, sides and pole mount area were reinforced.

Im running an old school 770 5-mil stroker ex-race motor with dual 44mm carbs and superjet mod b-pipe

Just waiting on o-rings for head and bar clamps.

Hoping to have it on the water soon!

Future plans include front footstrap and tom 21 tubbies.

What type of steering did you go with?
Stock or aftermarket?

UMI steering plate, square nose steering cable, stock fx1 pole and shmity1 08+ superjet bracket will allows the sn cable to work on the shorter fx1 pole.

What pump tunnel did you use?

What drive shaft are you using?

Can you explain the process of lining up the tunnel?

Stock fx1 tunnel and driveshaft, the pump mount area was modded to allow any 144mm to bolt right up. I have heard the stock pump tunnel is too small for the 144mm pump and I have heard that it works great, I guess I will find out soon!

I'm interested to know how it rides. I rode an fx1 with a stock tray and 144, but feel a wide tray was among a few things necessary. Looks good Dustin. I hear your riding tomorrow?

Was going to ride tomorrow but now the high only going to be 48 so im going to wait for a warmer day!

Finally got to ride the fx1 today, It ran great and it rips hard! Its scary fast, i wasn't able to get close to its top end, Im going to gps it next time I go out. I was really surprised by how well the pump hooked up with the bored stock pump shoe, no signs of cavitation but the water was really calm today.
