Well I've had to much free time lately so I thought I'd try something new. For about a week I've been reading about stand up jet skis and I think I could be hooked. Ive never actually ridden one but it looks like something in between mx and wakeboarding. Anywho I found myself a project- '88 650sx. The guy I bought it from said he had it out on the water a week ago and it seems to start/run good. New battery and starter, stainless impeller. other than that, looks mostly stock. Thats the good news. The bad news is it need some serious cosmetic work. It's got some minor cracks here and there in the hull but there is pretty big (5") one that might even go all the way through the hull in the front. Never done any work with fiberglass but I figure thats the whole point of this is to learn somethin new. I figure if I'm gonna be doin all this sanding and refinishing anyways I'll probly paint it and wrap it in turf as well. And the chin pad is shot. Also the 'hood' has a big hole on top that I'm assuming should have something over it. The intake grate was also busted but I've already ordered a new one. I also figure I better get a lanyard hooked up because I doubt I can just not fall. So I guess this is just a little introduction. And any tips on any of the problems I mentioned would be greatly appreciated.
