need an octane guru!

Update!!!!!! All electronics are new. Also refreshed from jet ski solutions the only thing not new is the flywheel. Still no damn spark. Anyone have a spare flywheel willing to lend or sell for decent price. I'm appx 3k into the electronics now. Getting frustrated.

Perhaps try disconnecting the stop switch plug from the ebox connector. then crank engine without fuel or pull a plug while cranking. I have seen some stop switches fail in situations like this.

Your flywheel will have to be matched your current setup . Polaris had 2 different PVL systems in 2002 and 2003. Most 03 octanes had a "high start" 10degree advance cdi and matching flywheel. whereas the 2002 did not have static timing advance on its flywheel and cdi.

2002 octane flywheel part# 4010789

2003 octane flywheel part#4010569

I tried disconnecting thse stop switch no difference. All electronics including the start stop switches have been rebuilt by JSS. it only gives spark if it sits for several days then only for a few turn overs. Ski shows 12.25amps while cranking over. if someone has a complete set of proven electronics I will by them. so far I have boughten
2 new stators
2 new reprogrammed watcon cdis
1 new stock cdi
2 new coils
complete remanufacture of electronics from jss
2 new s/s cylinoid

Almost at the point where this boat is gunna have everything pulled and a new Yamaha set up going in if this don't work.

Given the cost and difficulty of tracking down parts, swapping to Yamaha sounds like a much better plan in the long run anyways.
Didn't some models come with Yamaha drive lines?

Does it have a rectifier in that setup? I don't see a new one of those on the list.

Mismatched flywheel to stator/CDI?

mismatched flywheel is a possibility forsure. That's the only thing I can think of. I have done everything else. still doesn't explain why it originally happened.

Did any single part of the harness stay in the boat while everything else was out to be rebuilt?

Have you checked the magnets and trigger ring on the inside of your fly wheel? AS outlined in the Polaris manual.. you can make your own test leads along with using a 9volt battery and a single LED. the jumper wires plug into the corresponding pins on the stator harness. as you rotate the flywheel by hand the LED will flash as the magnet passes that trigger pickup. Much like setting up a total loss MSD. You may want to check that out. if it does not light the LED as it passes than you may have pin pointed the problem area.

Every piece of electronics where sent to jss. My plan was to rig up a system to test like a total loss but I was able to find a matching flywheel stator for a decent price so I'll swap them out this week one last time. After that I'm done
