Buy a Superjet

Hey everyone, I am 17 years old, and I worked a bunch over the summer and saved enough money to get my first ever Jet ski. Ever since I was young I always loved the water, but my family has never really been into boating. So I am finally so EXCITED to say I am getting a new 2021 Yamaha WaveRunner. I HAVE ONE PROBLEM

My problem is I cant decide on which one to get. I have done a bunch of research and I am down to two skies.

Yamaha FX Cruiser SVHO
Yamaha FX Cruiser

So Basically the same ski, but one supercharged. Obviously the supercharged one looks cooler from the first glance, but after talking to my good friend who works on engines for a living, he quickly warned me how much stress the superchargers put on the engine and makes it more susceptible to break. Also I have definitely thought about the gas consumption difference too, but the MAIN part that worries me is the Reliability.

Just wanted to get some OPINIONS and maybe some first hand responses of people who have owned supercharged ones vs naturally aspirated.

Thank you so much for helping me!!!

We convince you buy something fun instead of a couch yet?! :D Check out the 2021 superjet videos on youtube.

Gabe: I vote for you for President!

Wait a minute, did you have a leg up because your Daddy is rich?

No, he set a goal, you exceeded that goal and now you are being rewarded for that hard, smart and resourceful work.

And your Dad is smart enough to recognize and to encourage that in you.

So, do this, buy whatever brand new sit down these guys suggest.

And tell your Dad / your employer / yourself: "I need you to buy a new 2020 Super Jet 2-stroke standup. What do I need to do to earn what is needed to buy that?"

Keep living at home. Keep your expenses down. Don't get sucked down into the car/truck, insurance, fuel hole. Put some money aside for your first rental property.

BTW, as a professional myself, I will tell you that professionals are the "plumbers" i.e., the technicians for those who actually make things. Make something or provide a physical service that others want. Actual plumbers make more money than professionals in many instances.

And finally, I suggest that you buy a brand new 2020 2-stroke Super Jet now. First. This is their last year. Find one at a dealership and jump on it. You can always buy whatever couch you want later. They will always be making couches. 2-stroke Super Jets, not so much . . .

Good job Kid!

Thank you so much dude I really appreciate those kind words! So nice of you, and means a lot to me! Speaking of rentals properties that is so funny you mention them because I have been thinking about those a lot recently to make that passive source of income. Gotta get my credit score super high at an early age. Thank you again for responding, and would love some advice on rental properties!

I could probably learn something too, so may I suggest that you post up a new thread entitled "Rental Properties?" and state that you are 17 years old and a hard worker and a great saver and that you want advice on how what and where to buy your first rental property. I will post up my suggestions and hopefully so will others.

Post it up here:

I’m going to give advice based on my goals when I was 17. But a nice used superjet under $4K. Then buy a cheap inbound ski boat. It’s hard to take the ladies on a date on any ski. A sunset cruise after dinner at a marina can often be a necessity at any age. Especially after you’ve sent all day looking at that bikini. Let’s just say there is only one thing better than riding a stand up.
Young man, you need access to a boat too if you don’t already have one.

My wife grew up on the lake if that helps confirm this thought.
