Need help modding and freshening up trailer

Picked up a mid 90's Shorelandr two place couch trailer that i want to make some changes to. I plan on moving one of the wide sets of bunks for the girls couch to the center and having two narrower sets on the outsides for the stand ups so i need 6 more bunk mounts. Problem is I would like to get the same ones but can't find them anywhere. Anbody know where i can buy some of these?

Few other odd questions. I Noticed the majority of bunk carpeting comes in 8'' x 144'', so thats not wide enough to cover a 2x4 correct? Is it not normal for the carpet to be wrapped completely around the bunk? The only other option I've seen is 12'' x x144'' and thats supposed to be for a 2x6 so I'm not sure what the norm is.

Id prefer to wrap the bunks completely and I need to use 2x6's for the center bunks so i don't know what width carpet I'm supposed to use for those either?

You could use outdoor carpet from a carpet supplier. I used some for my old double trailer. It worked great, just make sure to use stainless staples.

I bought a yard for about $10. I think it was 80" wide.

Like Amitchell says I did the same, Home Depot black or gray out door carpet, I used the higher grade one as they had two grades too choose from and completely wrapped my stingers and overlapped it on the ends and the bottom. The carpet needs a 2inch wider 6"" long tongue on each end of the 2x4 to wrap the ends, then wrap the sides over the torque and overlap

How does it compare to marine bunk carpet? Similar in texture or not as much padding?

Anybody know where I can find these mounts or ones similar?

Don't know on the bunk brackets have you tried calling the trailer manufacturer?

Marine carpet is more expensive, the Home Depot outdoor carpet has two grades get the better more expensive one, my bud. Cheaped out and got the thinner one and regrets it

The other one is much thicker

They have a link on their sit for local parts by your location not sure if tried them yet for the bunk brackets

On the carpet best I can figure is
6670-890-600-MB Home Depot sku #
I do believe I bought off a 6ft roll in store as bunks were less than. 6ft and that left me some to fold back on the ends. This stuff is $4.50 a linear ft and so e of the others are $1.25ish

I bought mine of a roll and my bud bought his as a pre cut 1.25 ish linear foot. They normally have it at the store on display if you have a location close to you hope this helps

Tried a couple with no luck, just tried selling me $20 a piece brackets. Ive got 8ft mounts so I wonder if they have the same material in larger lengths? Thanks for the help Harbor

On the carpet yes they have it In The store on a large pipe in a carpet motorized rack with cutter below, ask for assistance so they can bring the outdoor carpet roll around, it's got like maybe 10 rolls or more of carpet in a rack. They will roll out how much you need, it's sold by the linear foot so if it's a 12 ft wide roll you get 12 ft wide by how ever many feet long you want, 1 ft minimum.

I don't think those would work for my trailer. The ones i have on there now and the ones I'm looking for are nearly identical to those in the link that i just posted, just a few inches shorter. So they have more vertical support and have slots for two bolts rather than only one

Yes your right, I linked to wrong part when I switched from what found on my lap top but couldn't post so researched on iPhone and posted the wrong part, wow my bad! :(

So it looks these could work just cut the extra length of bracket off at the bottom once the bunk is set to the correct hight

Thats what i was thinking. Now because I'm trying to squeeze three skis on the trailer i need every spare inch i can get. I like the idea of being able to shift the center bunks up two inches but am concerned that the heavier weight of the couch that will be in the middle might force the bunks to slide down. What do you think?

Just picked up the carpet and wood, got everything for just under $75 so a lot better than spending $120 in carpet alone!

Will there be (4) brackets per couch bunk so eight brackets total on the couch with two bolts each bracket? That's 56 pounds per bolt or 112 pounds per bracket so it's prolly plenty with the slotted bracket to keep it from sliding.

If its (2) per bunk (4) brackets total, that's 112 pounds per bolt or 224 pounds per bracket, I could see your concern with the bracket sliding down over time......

What about welding (1) washer to each bracket for the thru bolt to go thru to positively locate and maintain bracket position once you have your hight and bunk placing set up? Or a small horizontal stitch weld above the bolt so the bracket can't slid down behind the bolt head?

One thing on the carpet, my buddy has the same trailer and he redid his bunks, but he did cut outs in the carpet around each bracket and didn't get the carpet very tightly warped on the 2x4

I tightly warped my 2x4, overlapping on the bottom and folding long end flaps in first before folding the sides over the end flaps and stapling on he bottom. Then I pushed the 2x4 and carpet into the bracket and thru bolted it. I have a Zeiman trailer and I'am not sure if this set up will fit into your style bracket.

There's actually 3 brackets per bunk so six total. Where did you get the weight numbers on each bracket? If it makes a difference it will be for a Yamaha blaster 1 or a vxr pro depending on which we take for the day.

Welding a washer sounds like a promising solution. Any reason to only use one and not two (one for each bolt)?

I planned on carpeting like you did. There's cut outs in the carpet now and it looks like crap. What made you choose to overlap on the bottom and not the top for more cushion? I imagine I can make it fit if it overlaps on the top so it's only one layer thick on the bottom.

On the weight I used a 3 seater couch 06 Stx15 kawi 900 pounds, it was late and it's the only couch weight I know so I used that for my example, my bad. The blaster must be way lighter though

On the washer I was trying to keep it clean & simple, two would be stronger for sure

It's been awhile since I carpeted bunks, when I did it I copied how Zeiman did it, I removed the carpet and used it as a pattern. They had the seam on the bottom of the bunk with the staples on the bottom, which made sense to me since the ski would be sliding across the top of the bunk opposite the staples.

One thing I thought would be trick but I never tried it is to knock the corners off the 2x4. Cut 45 deg angles of the top of each bunk length wise, "just cutting the corners off" not much more to make it more roundish. The carpet wears more on these corners I noticed. On my stand ups where it sits on the bunks the hull is curved upwards but the 2x4 is flat so the hull rest some on the corners of the 2x4
