Need help to drop jetski

I want to be able to bring my stand up jetski to my buddys house and drop it in at his dock in his backyard. I can use a beach cart to bring to back yard, but to drop it in the water sometimes theres a 7 foot drop from the yard. Or i can bring it down onto the dock on the cart but then how do i put it in and out on the dock? I can leave it there chained up on maybe a ezdock but there alot of money. dont really want to do that. Any ideas?

Something simple like 2 long 2x4, a 6" pvc capped as a float, something to hold the rails at top, and extend the length of the wench on your beach cart.

Havent tried it, but you shoukd be able to come up with something.

ALRIGHT I SORT OF UNDERSTAND, i FEEL LIKE THAT WONT LOOK TO GOOD IN HIS BACKYARD IDK IF HE WILL ALLOW ME TO DO THAT

Make it removable, like how a truck uses a ramp to load a quad. Make it so it latches on the seawall/dock then remove it and leave it in the shed.

just pick it up!

if you can get it to the water set it on the dock and slide it in nose first. when your done grab the nose and pull it on the deck.

you could also put a winch on your cart and use the cart as the ramp to pull it up onto the deck if you like. make the rails on the end of the cart long so you can put them into the water and it slides up.

Like Vumad said but to keep the end in the water floating I would strap some inflatable boat bumpers. Use more or less bumpers depending on what height your launching from ( i.e. @ dock level I'd want water-end of ramp 1/2 submerged for easier angle)

i believe he was saying it was 7 feet from his feet on the dock to the waterline. Its not a floating dock.

@motosurf781 if its a floating dock, do what crj said. Just put a small rug on the edge of the dock.

How far is the dock to the water?

unfortiatly its hard to lift it onto the dock part becaus the dock has a stairs that go down to the bottom dock, so it would be hard to just bring it down there.also the docks about 1.5 feet above water. the edge from ground to water is about 7 feet. trying to find someone who has a portable ramp idea. im buying beach cart so i can wheel it around to back yard. just trying to figure out how to get into water

Build some ramps that connect to you beach cart. Put a winch on the beach cart and attach the ramps, lean it up so the ramps go down to the water, and use the ratchet to let it down and bring it back up.

round tube for the beach cart bunks. on the ramps use a smaller diameter pipe inside the same side as the beach carts bunks so you can slip them in the ends to extend it. Easy to make and then you just have to haul a 8ft ramp attachment or leave it at your buddys.

or do what everyone else does and go launch at the boat ramp and ride to his cottage and save your self the hassle.

Find a junk jet ski hull and make a cheap sweet ass floating ride on ezdock all custom like. You could probably get the couch hull free.

i like the idea of the ramp, but its 8 feet tall to the water depending on tide. so it would have to be atleast 16 feet long to be at a reasonable angle. i think im gunnna use one of the truck bed cranes. only issue im having is the crane is rated for 250 extended and 500 non. my superjet weighs 305 dry weight. probably 340 with gas. is that good enough or should i upgrade and get hte 1000lb and 500lb crane

When I first started riding I would throw my ski right off the dock and pull it up with a rope sometimes 7 feet up. You need two people to do it. I also bought one of those truck cranes and have been using it for years even lifted a GPR up with it.

I would get the 1000 pound one. Mine is at half extension, also we put a steel plate under it and through bolted it to the bulk head on top of a dead man

just bought one thanks, do you just lift it out of the water? or do you have something to ride it up onto then lift it. cause how do i leave it in water then climb onto dock to crank it up

I used a jetski sling. You slide the sling under the rails hop on the dock (we had a ladder) then make sure the slings are even you can do this from the top of the dock and then just crank

alright cool, im excited to make this happen actaully. i cant wait to get out. waters 46 degrees right now i really wanna go but ifeel even with my wetsuit it will be way to cold

I've been out in the surf for the past month water temp was 37 now it's 44 and it's not to bad. If you're going out in the bay it should be fine
