Need HELP whats the deal here?

I started to take this 701 motor apart today and noticed the cases and intake say 6m6 on them. 6m6 is from a 650 correct? The cases look to be machined to look just like the 61x cases i have here. But the intake is also different see pics. The cylinders and head both say 61x on them from the same motor. I do not know much about what i have found. I do know the motor was said to be rebuilt about a year ago.Thanks for the help.

Yeah the 650 reeds are alightly smaller in size to the 61x reeds...kinda just enlarged a little but the same shape. Someone probally just bored the cases to fit the larger 701 sleeves on the 61x cylinders.

So it is good like this or should i use the 61x case with 61x intake?

Use the 61x, it flows better.

The 650 cases were probably a last resort/cheap repair. Get 61x cases.

Yes the 650 was bored out for bigger sleeves, see the step on the exhaust side...
