I just put a 701 out of a waveraider in my superjet and it has a msd enhancer and protec pipe. When I put it in the water it will run good for a couple minutes and then just cut out and not go above 1/4 throttle. I hooked the gas line from the gas tank right to the carbs and took the breather line off the gas tank so I knew it was venting and it still ran like junk. It seems the longer I let it sit the longer it will run good before it cuts out. I tried messing with the mixture screws but it doesnt change anything.

breather line from the carb or tank?
the tank, the line that goes up into the handpole i just took it off quick while riding to make sure the tank was breathing. If I take out the overheat sensor from the head will it work right.

Just unplug that sensor; it's the pink wire going to the CDI.

if you do not have the breather line on the tank with a one-way valve, the tank will not build pressure and do exactly what yours is doin. go to an auto parts store and get a new one way valve...they look like this
i just cut the heat sensor off and coiled the wire up and zip tied it to something back by the ebox when i put on my head-no probs for 2 years of salt
