I rebuilt the motor in this Yamaha XL 800 and it ran fine for the first 30 min .Now it won't go over 4000 rpm without feathering the throttle, the motor just starts bogging down or cutting out..with the seat off ,you can hear it pushing air out somewhere. sounds like a compressor. It has a leak somewhere.. just looking for ideas before I take exhaust off to do pressure test. not sure what or why it happened. It was running pretty good .. compression is still even ,a bit low at 125 but it is stock and not broken in yet..
never heard this kind of noise before on non powervalve motors, wondering if it can be a power valve thing..
any thoughts..
