650/X-2 need help with gas lines and vent lines. Fuel question as well

my first post, i bought a 90 650sx with a bad top end just finished putting it together im a little lost on where some of these vent lines go to. i bought the thing with a bucket of parts.

The head has two vent line spots. i have the one in the middle of the head hooked up to the exhaust manifold. However i can not figure out where the other line thats on the side of head leads to.

Also fuel is not reaching the fuel bowl. (yes there is gas)

Any help is appreciated.

I you dont have an answer tomorrow I will take a couple pics and send a description of where it all goes, I have the same ski but its already loaded and tied up since I going riding first thing in the morning

starting with the one closest to the front of the ski and moving clockwise: main fuel feed, goes to the bowl (some sort of vent), Resurve feed line, return line


this is the backside of the fuel switch. Top is Resurve line, Middle forward goes to fuel pump, Bottom goes to main line


Fuel pump. The single rear line comes from the fuel switch, top forward is hooks to the lower nipple on card for fuel feed, Bottom forward is a vacume line that hook to the intake manifold


top line goes is the return and goes back to the fuel tank, bottom in the fuel feed and comes from the fuel pump and you can see the vacume line in the bottom back right that runs the fuel pump.


I do not know what other line you have coming off your head but this is the only one that I have, which is a water line for cooling the engine and pumping the water back out.

i guess that is what happens when you help somone on there first post, spend some time, do a right up for them and after creating the thread they forget about the site and never return to read the answer. well hopefull this will someday help someone else that is confused.

nope i read it thanks. im more of a lurker on these forums

the 2nd vent line i was referring was all the way to the front of the head. it must have been added by someone at some point; so i capped it.

I know this thread is super old but I just bought an x2 as well with a bunch of stuff done to it and i dont seem to have a on off res switch or a fuel pump. The res and main line run straight to the carb and then two seem to be vents. One just stops at the bottom of the hull and one has the check valve with nothing on the other end. Seemed really odd to me any help would be apreciated thanks.

Sounds like it is run correctly..a lot of people get rid of the fuel switch & run directly off of your reserve..should have 2 lines going to the carb..1 send 1 return.

Thanks a bunch took it out ran like a dream
