Whats up guys I am in need of some help. Me and a buddy installed a ac racing pole and a blowsion heavy duty cable on my 09 SJ. We installed the cable just as the old one was, The long end on bottom and the short end on top. But now when its installed, with the bars straight the nozzle is completely to the left. And when I disconnect the top and make the nozzle straight, it pushes the top like 2 inches past where the mountin location on the turn plate is. I am using the stock turn plate until I can get a new system. But I wouldn't imagine that with a new turn plate that it will relocate where you attach the cable back 2 inches. Totally lost, Did we install backwards? Theres no way to adjust it so it works. Do I just need a new steering system?

The second pic is of where the cable should be with the nozzle straight.
The Third is where it would be with the nozzle all the way right...And that seems insane..

Ohh ya the Blowsion cable wont work with this stupid fx1 pole I bought it out of lack of knowledge and a A hole seller, He said it was a SJ pole but tomski showed me a pic of a fx1 pole and a pre 08 pole side by side... But yes it will not work.. I guess we all learn the hard was sometimes.. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM A GUY SELLING SJ PARTS/RICKTER HULLLS/SJ HOODS ECT.. IN MICHIGAN.. Dudes a snake cause I even talked to him about the whole fx1 pole thing..

Buy the xmetal adjustable steering and the older sn cable will work.

Thats how I am using a fx-1 pole on my squarenose and didnt want to use the newer style cable.

Sold the Fx1 pole. But still have the stocker. I figured ill just ride the 97 with the proper ac pole and umi steering till i sack up and buy a rrp or if i can find a umi pole or something.. The 97 is so much more playful then my 09. Mainly cause the 09 is stock :(

Why do you need a Rrp? I am not sure why everyone thinks they are so great. So much heavier than stock. Aftermarket poles suck imho. Maybe that is just bc I used to have an xmetal and it put a bad taste in my pockets...hate spending good cash on parts with little return.

lol.. It will be much better then the stock fx1 pole with the stock steering cable thats for way sure. If i can find a UMI or AC ill jump on it. I hear you about the little return...But i figure if i ever go with a AM hull I won't have to stick a stock SJ pole on it... Or even a UMI or AC for that matter.

Maybe I am beating a dead horse here but why not? What is wrong with a stock pole on an aftermarket ski....did I miss something about how aftermarket hulls are supposed to have all aftermarket parts?

I think this early superfreak looks good with a stock rn pole. What do you think

An aftermarket pole is a bling thing. Least performance return of any part you could buy outside of paint. Oh and its heavy and if you have a scupper it can sink your boat.

If you ride with the right group in Florida you won't find a chinpad in the bunch. Different strokes for different folks.
