Need some ideas on Hauling my ski around...

So I bought a class A RV, plan on selling my house, just live in my RV and travel around and ride will all you mofos. Challenge is how?

I need to tow an extra vehicle behind me but need to consider weight. I don't want to haul a full size truck or even a "newer" small sized truck. I currently drive a crew cab v6 frontier and while I haul skis in the bed from time to time its to short of a bed and weighs to much.

To me the perfect solutions so far are:

CHEAPER: A small long bed pick up with a camper top, but it would have to be and older model, like a t100, to kept the size down which sucks because it will probably be a high mileage vehicle.

NOT AS CHEAP: Looking at the compact panel vans. It's called a Transit Connect. Looks like it fits perfectly for function not form... just doesn't look very nice for my wife to drive around...

Maybe some other small compact car that a ski can fit into??? What are you cramming skis into?

I have a hitch hauler and ruled that out already. It would sit to low also need to attach a hitch for the bikes on the back. My rig is going to be loaded with "toys" and ski is the hardest thing to find a place for. Anyone have any other ideas?

Thanks

Thiers a guy that shows up at pismo a lot from Canada he put a hitch mount on the front of his rv

i say any car u want. modify a tow dolly so a ski fits across the front bumper of the car. then use the car an the dolly to put it in the water!!!!!!!!!

1: Get a car trailer like a featherlite or similar, but with a full deck. 20 -22 ft in length depending on how many skis you will carry.
2: Buy a Jeep Wrangler and hitch hauler.
3: Load skis across the front of the trailer on deck.
4: Drive Jeep on and strap down.

Jeeps are cheap and fun, great for running around town and will haul a ski on a hitch hauler. Probably looking at around 5000-6000 lbs total weight, if that. When you don't have the skis you can take a golf cart or scooters too. Depending on what year Jeep you buy, you can have the Jeep and trailer for less than 10k, and that's for a nice trailer. I would get a $5000-7000 Jeep and $3000 or so trailer. Most campgrounds have pull-thru sites for class A RVs so you won't have to worry about backing much.

Just my .02. Good luck.

I've been thinking about doing the same thing, but I would like to build a "tiny house" on wheels since RV's are so expensive, and I like the cozy feel of one. Watch the documentary "Tiny" on Netflix. My wife is a nanny and will be for another 2 or 3 years. Once the kids she watches are grown I think I might try and convince her that we need to see the country. I might leave out the part about every stop involving jet skiing lol. Please document your adventures via a blog or something so some of us can live vicariously through you ;)

I've thought about how cool it would be just traveling from one ski ride to the next. Meeting people and raging. You're gonna be living the dream!

What about a long bed newer Ranger? They can be had pretty cheap. I would put a hitch hauler on the rear of the truck and use the bed for bikes, etc.

Another possible option is this, my friend owns this company and builds the Tandem Tow dolly:

Indeed those are awesome and thats cool your friend owns it. We definately looked at that and I really like those but looking at all the options its not the cheapest. I might have to bite the bullet and go for it though.
