I'm still in the planning/daydreaming phases of one just south of Charlotte. Probably spring/summer 2013. Going to try to cook up a deal with the local ski boat seller to get some v-wakes going.
Benefits: beach area, plenty of space to park skis, private boat ramp, picnic shelter, boat slips, bar with $2 Bud/Bud Light/Miller Lite. Some other good stuff.

What about a Carolina Beach Freeride? The 4-wheel drive thing would be a pain in the ass, but there is plenty of area. I don't know about the governmental/permitting side of things as well.

Carolina Beach, on the tip you can drive out on the sand. No houses or hotels, just rednecks and fisherman. You need 4 wheel drive to access it though. I talked to WaveJunkies Dan about a ride somewhere in North or South Carolina and he seemed interested in helping.
I'm open to helping with a ride somewhere and I am open to the location.

Dan, you really are the man! I didn't want to just volunteer your services because I know you do so much with BOTH Wavedaze events but having someone with your knowledge of the red tape would be of paramount importance.
I am up to any ideas, and I would definitely like to help with an event. Surf would be great but even a lake event would be fun with a good turnout.

I would be great to have all of the Grat Lakes riders at the Team Xtreme freeride again next August we had a blast this year, largest yet, and expect net year to be even bigger and better.
This was one of my best weekends all summer! Super smooth event. I would just reccommend making it a bit earlier in the summer before all the college peeps head out leading to more crowded bars

We are condsidering both. The reason why we have it so late in not to conflict with other rides and to do it when we basically own the beach. It would be too nuts there in the middle of summer and a pond for sure. By nuts, I mean, they would not let us do it, WAY too many boaters swimmers etc. It would be considered too dangerous with us nuts there.
