Just picked up a new 2015 Super Jet and i have been checking out all the forums for recommendations on upgrades for free style and free riding. I have been riding stand ups for over 25 yrs off and on mostly lake riding and some ocean riding. With all the advances in tech, i am interested in getting my ski tuned up and tricked out first phase. Take a look at my list and let me know what you recommend or you would subtract or change. Any help appreciated. BTW.. this is my first Yami and I love it! Not loving the stock so much, but i know it will ride great with new parts.

I'm not sure what your reasoning is for "Not loving the stock so much" that a bow eye bushing will fix....

Don't waste your time with tornado filters. The stock setup is more than adequate.

Are you sure you want a 13/17 impeller and not a hooker?
The 08+ stainless props are already pretty good, maybe just try riding it a few times.

The blowsion ovp is only for their handle pole if I'm not mistaken.

Dcut plate on a 2008+ is kind of silly, these hulls hold a line and don't really flick around like the older ones. Only reason to shorten plate is for surf landings.

These things ride immensely better than 96-07 out of the box. Just ride it and add power. They handle good already.

I would consider:
Carbon reed petals (a must)
Rule 360 bilge pump kit (a must)
Cyl porting, case porting
Carb mods to 38s or dual 44s, a/M intake or modded stock intake
Ada head at 200psi on 100 octane
Msd enhancer or ocd solutions modded cdi
B pipe mod chamber

Dont put footholds in it, not the ski for it.

What's wrong with stock throttle bracket?
And I'd ditch the PWC Cover unless for storage in garage. I've seen afew threads on hear of them scuffing up Paint and gelcoats pretty bad on while being trailered.

Vortex hit it on the money. I think you should just go ride it for a month first, and then come tell us what you think is wrong.

The list reads like you just want to throw a bunch of stuff on to add weight and reduce reliability.

Yes, no cover on during transport, only when at rest on the trailer or garage... they flap in the wind and that is surprisingly abrasive.

Nothing wrong with putting footholds in a newer superjet. If you ride surf or like to jump waves/wakes you'll want them. I went all last year with no footholds or a strap. Absolutely sucked especially with the slick azzz stock neoprene turf. Throw some holds in it. Don't be afraid to cut up a new hull and make it how YOU want it to be!

I have done a lot of work to my 2014 to make it how I want it for this year and am very anxious to ride.

Some things I would say about your list is to :

-keep the stock flame arrestor
-don't d cut the ride plate. Leave it be or cut it flush to the hull
-stick to the 35cc domes. I had 33cc domes in my new motor but the cons outweigh the pros in terms of the added 15lbs of compression. I don't want to ever run a race gas mix and you're not going to see a big upgrade in the 33cc domes to get you to 200psi.
-don't get the MSD stock cool as stated above

Other than that. Make it your own and ride it. You'll love it

I like open filters because you can fog the engine after each ride easier/more effectively

Instead of footholds I would take all the stock mats off, put 18mm padding on standing area w/cut diamond turf, then get jettrim side mats with the side lifters. A one or two day project instead of a few weekends to do footholds. I don't think they are that beneficial unless your are going inverted.

Off topic but would you trailer with an oem cover? I've never had any problems in the past on other ski's but it seems my 08 the paint comes off just sitting there

The stock intake has a small port with a screw cap made just for fogging.

No, I remove the OEM cover for trailering. Any flapping will cause a lot of abrasion in a few hour drive. It's only a few hours of sun exposure so I suggest removing it.
I've even seen the sides of a sea doo sit down seat have abrasion damage from an OEM cover.

Won't be trailering with a cover on. Just need it for the house.

It's not as straight of a shot into the intake on the stock air box IMO, engine may not stall when u try to fog it

For surf, I would lean towards the stock airbox

Agreed, but it does get both sides of the case.
If you hold just at the opening of the hole, it will split and go into both carbs. Yes it is probably soaking the mesh arrester a bit in oil. But this is how I fog and it will stall after 10-15 seconds.
