New 2017 Kawasaki 4 stroke sx-r!

I just watched the long reveal video and it was very impressive how in a 50 meter drag race (New SXR vs Old SXR), the old SXR was 16 meters behind when the new SXR crossed the finish line. That is 52 feet behind in a 164 feet drag race....id say that is pretty awesome!

Post link to video please Matt!

Some video of it in action would be nice.

Heck - lets just drop it in one of the races to see how it compares.

I imagine it will carve really well

I think the announcement said the water demonstration would be at noon. I think that's in 30 minutes with time zones?

Have we seen the pricetag yet?
No, but I saw this quote in the article on Watercraft journal:

"Further details such as the estimated MSRP (our guess of $10,995 was thankfully too high – so maybe $10,499) will be revealed after the 2017 dealer meeting scheduled for November 13, 2016"

This is the only stream I've been able to find. Hard to say if the noon event will be streamed.

looks like a warthog with those bumps on the side.a bit ugly but style will grow on you.heavy sob apparently though

Yeah I dunno about this. Feel like Kawasaki missed the mark here. Who wants a 550lb standup? That's not what a standup is supposed to be. I went from Wanting one so bad before it was unveiled to disappointment. Sure they reintroduced the jet ski but do it right or don't do it. Should have put the h2 engine in this thing. Much lighter and equal horsepower. Seriously Kawasaki. Our first new jet ski was a 1978 440. Great machine but this thing is a couch.

I agree with you, that is WAY heavy and not the same idea of a light 550sx that can be tossed around.

It is interesting one of the articles talks positively about how this engine has been in production for 13 years, and so forth. However I read this as they didn't try to make anything newer, lighter, more fitting for this platform, etc. Is the same engine from a 1000lb sit down really the right choice?

It also talks about how fast they brought this to market, and adapted a prototype design from over 10 years ago. Why not take more time, make more custom parts, etc?

Anyway, without full specs and more feedback/reviews/etc, I may be jumping to conclusions.

Kawasaki is going for one thing, a checkered flag and race wins. They don't give a poop about us out there doing back flips and riding waves. Looks to me like the Kawasaki once again will rule in racing. All I know is me and doug already talked about, and we will have two to barrel around some bouys on!
