I am guessing the engine bay needed a bit more room for the new engine design. I can imagine that thing would get some air on a big wave. My old sxr used to launch nice big waves, but that was the only thing it would jump. I like the new concept, it will be interesting to see what direction the racing industry goes from here.

Maybe people will start to realize that racing is more fun, anyway ;)

Didn't someone/something say 66 mph top speed?

Would be pretty cool if you could just go around a lake beating sit downs in short races.

This weekend was on my "newish to me" 08 SJ and loving carving. I don't think it is more fun than freestyle but there is an enjoyment in a really clean turn, especially at speed.

For sure. I just bought a newish to me 08+ hull after my first year racing this year. Racing is a quite a bit different experience than just carving randomly on a lake, go try it next season. Plus the other fun part is that you don't need a $20000 ski to do it

Here in Houston I'm pretty sure a lot of locals are all about racing so I have some opportunity to learn.

I was talking with KMAC about this saturday, I am thinking more hull to help displace the added weight of the motor. Remember the SXR was a "WET" Hull design, it did not trim out at faster speeds, Most likely this new hull will be the same. I am betting it will handle just like the SXR. I rode a modded 2088+ SJ with and XScream 900SS saturday that was set up from racing. Made me remember how much I liked the SXR handling, this was fun but sketchy at speeds.

If I had to pick competing in Freestyle or Racing. Racing wins everytime. Freestyle was just for fun.

Bite me old fart. Give me some of you frequent flyier miles. Oh wait, Delta's computer crashed and you lost all your points.
