New acquisition- '14 Superjet

Lurk on here but rarely post. Gotta get into the habit of doing that more now.

Posted a thread of my skis awhile back:

A couple weeks ago I decided I'd start fresh. It was decided by my father and I that we sell the orange ski shown in my previous thread to a friend of ours. But it was to make room for my ski. I went to a dealership and picked up a 2014 SJ, a decision I'm very happy about. This will be probably the only new thing in my life. Being only 20 yrs old, it was nice to ride a ski that wasn't as old as I am. I really wanted a clean slate, that's unmolested. The day I got her next to the other boat, definitely always keeping the '93 as it's very built

This thread will document my progress. Not sure where I want to go with this ski though

So far in the last couple weeks:
-Removed some decals
-Handlepole spring
-Pump cone
-ODI grips
-Blowsion exhaust ring

pics of now

As of now the plans are:
-New ride plate (ordered a Riva yesterday)
-Blowsion air forced filters (stock unit is ugly lol)
-New turf
-Intake
-Pump nozzle

I ride in SW Washington in Vancouver if anyone else is from around there!

Lookin good.

I would high advise you keep the stock airbox, pod filters just suck in water, may not be too bad if you just run buoys...

Thanks for the input. What makes you say that? I have the filters on the single carb sn and is on the one that was sold. Buddy has them on his dual carb '96 too, and we've never had any problems before.

Its a well know fact that stock air box keeps water out better then any other setup. Start doing subs, rolls, etc. the engine will start to cut out from water ingestion, it really sucks.

Beautiful ski. Why just the pump cone? Those are a single piece of the pump tuning job...and I would think just adding a stubby cone would actually make it worse, no?

If someone GAVE me 100 aftermarket flame arrests...I would have 100 aftermarket flame arrests in my garbage can that night.

That I know of, no. Had it on the ski that was sold and took it off before letting it go so it was just sitting around. Plan is to bore out the stock nozzle maybe or just replace it

I had great luck putting a blowsion pump cone and 2008 impeller on my old 90' Superjet

Ya had a positive experience using it on the '93, coupled with a 1419 skat trak impeller, 12 vein and SE nozzle. Completed the package. I'll probably do the impeller at some point, but i definitely would like to swap in a bored nozzle

Nevermind...brain fart...for me it was one or the other.....short cone OR bored nozzle....both were bad for my set up...
