sounds like an air leak somewhere that mostly corrects itself once the joint expands from the heat. all your bolts tight and gaskets in good shape?

Just got back from the water and problem has been fixed. It's just a bit rich now, so I'm going back to the 70 pilot or possibly a 72.5 whichever feels better. Thanks for all the help.

So did you change to the 95g spring?

Before you jet leaner I would try leaning out your screws. I think someone mentioned before that your screw settings looked a little rich. I would definitely not go any lower than a 72.5. Like I said the 70 was way too lean for me. Glad it's running better though.

Yes, I'm running the 95g spring. I'm not sure if I have any 72.5's. I'll have to dig through the garage and see if I can find a couple.

Im using the same setup(except mod pipe) and have the same jetting spec basically. I had freestyle-racer ride my boat, and it seems my ski is a tad too rich on the bottom whereas the top is fine(I have about 1 turns low, 3/4 high).

Is this 75 pilot and 135 main jetting specs for the stock f/a box with no screens removed?

Thanks,

Aaron

I have two screens removed w/ the 75 pilot, 135 main, and 95g spring. Definitely too rich on the bottom. 72.5 or 70 should do it, from what FLY is saying 72.5 should be the way to go.

This is what did the trick:

70 pilots
135 mains
95g springs
Stock N/S

1/4 out on the middle pipe screw
3/8 out on the top screw

One last thing, what should I use for a restrictor to the stinger? 2.5 needle seat? Nylon spacer with hole drilled? Or should I just get the FCV from JetWorks?

I used a FCV and a 2 or 3mm restrictor at the stinger and it never got too hot and really worked great.

Did it improve your "just off idle" pull quite a bit? Mine takes a second to "clear out" before it really starts to pull. I don't think it's a carb issue.

Well I put them on along with the pipe so I never got a chance to try it without them. Overall I was VERY happy with my off idle hit. It was very crisp and never had to clear out. Like I said before the only thing I had to deal with was an occasional lean stumble, but as far as the waterbox loading up that was never an issue for me.

Update:

Finally got the ski dialed in very well. Here is my setup:

95 gm springs
70 pilots
135 mains
1.5 N/S

Bottom and middle screw closed; top screw out about 2 turns (7 threads as per yamaslut)

Jetworks flow control valve before stinger
