I just bought me a set of dual x-metal 46 with the boyesen intake system, my old set-up was dual pro-tec 44 with pro-tec intake with delta reeds.... Im planning on getting the 865ss next, currently im running a ported 701 with all the bolt ons.... Do you think Ill notice much of a difference with my new set-up?

yes you will notice the reeds wear out in no time, the boyeseen intake will work with the delta reeds with a little work,id go that route

I didnt know there were people that wernt fans of boyesen system, i did some googling and the boyesen rad system is supposed to far exceed any reed system?

l think Boyeson makes a great product and believe that they are a lot better then a lot of other similar products on the market. As far as your second question, that needs to be answered by a engine builder.

Interesting.... I'm pretty sure DASA knows a thing or two about making power and "setting up complete packages" , they choose to run Vforce 2 with their new billet intake. Sounds to me like too many people have jumped on the boyesen band wagon because thats what " X " runs on all of their setups. Once again if the parameters of your motor are setup to work in harmony with the Boyesen Intake and carbs then you might be tickled to death when you run it. If not your most likely not to notice that much of a difference. Just my .02

I don't think you will see much power gain. If you do it will more than likely be because you have not been riding for a while. It would take a back to test on the same day to see if any difference is felt. If I'm not mistaken you changed from a set of taperbored 44's to a set of stock and rejetted 46's.
Do let us know your honest opinion if it's too hard to tell any difference do let us know and don't fool your self into thinking that it has more power only because you haven't been riding for a while, it happens to all of us.

boyeseen intake is a great piece, but now that dasa has a wide spaced billet intake with vforce2 reeds with the same oringed carb plate, pretty much makes it 2nd fiddle if not obsolete at its current price. The power is negligible between them for the most part for what we do,but the vforce reeds flow a little better and last much longer

If I ride my ski for a while (20-30 gallons) without modification, I could take a 2 month break and notice a difference positive or negative in my ski. If there is a difference, I think you'll see it. I switched from stock 44's tuned well to a set of GRS 44's and immediately could tell the difference even before they were tuned properly.

Dont take this the wrong way ... I'm not trying to disrespect you in anyway but I'd be willing to bet the top pros, stone, malone, bogart, just to name a few would not be able to tell a performance gain between parts switched 2 months apart! I for one have take 1-2 weeks off and have been throughly surprised with the power of my boat when i get back on the water, even when i have made absolutely no changes.
