I've tried searching and I can't find it, but I could have swore at one time I saw a company making a new ebox for superjets, I think it was clear and supposedly the be-all end-all for leaky ones? Can anyone help me out here, maybe I am just crazy. :bananajump:

Mighty mighty,

Don't know if I've seen one that's a end all product for eboxes, but I just picked up the cold fusion one that used the oem back and I'm real happy with it. I would say any of the new ones are a step up from the oem.

Depth seems to be about the same but usable space is increased since the fuse hole is deleted. I'm running a ATP Flame ignition so the Cdi space is same, along with oem coil and relay. It's a nice upgrade. Worth it??? I'd say that's in the eyes of the owner. I think the prices for all of them including mine is a bit outrageous but I like being able to see the contents without having to pull the whole ebox and disassemble to see what's happening. I paid $279 versus $400 for the same kit with a billet back plate. I was gonna tackle making one for myself but the logistics (for me being a non-metal fab guy) became a bit consuming. Ill post some pics soon.

DAG I know u ended that with a lol, but if u do go that route let me know . I looked long and hard at making my own. The Lexan and the billet was reasonable to come by, but the actual process of making one that didn't look like a complete hatchet job was a too daunting for me.

I'd guess the Lexan is 1/4" thick. The whole CF kit is nice.

It's got more depth. But LxW dimensions are same. Mcdog borrowed it for Daytona and said it worked fine. Had a coil crap out but overall he said the ebox did its thing. Maybe he can chime in on it.

Cf box is the same size. I have the full billett one. Because it is open on both sides though, you have the ability to tuck and bunch wires much easier since u can access it from the front as well so you can sanotize the presentation. The coil and stator end up on the opposite sides if you want the logos right side up due to the bolt pattern. Carl told me why this was but i forgot. Passed a 4 day daytona saltwater assault with nary a speck of condensation including a drive home to snowy chicago...

I dont have any water leakage issues with a properly built oem ebox and just remove the fuse cap from time to time to check for water on inside of cap.

It is my belief that many/most water problems come once boxes are opened to change out a component and then closed using old seal and/or pinch a wire and closed wrong. Also saltwater will corrode and lift the ebox seal from the metal back as corrosion deposits form and cause water leak. In our custom ebox builds we seal gasket to metal back to help slow this down.

That said, the clear front a/m boxes are pretty and you can inspect with a quick glance. I prefer the design like the cold fusion that use oem ebox grommets which make changing out components easy. If you need to swap stator, coil, or cables, part just lifts out and any oem part will fit. With kawi style ebox connectors used by most others, then you need to modify the stator, coil, or cable to even try it.
