New forum software, so what's not working and what's cool?

This is not a bitching thread.

Let me know what's not working that is not on my list below.

• groups did not import, will have to come up with different solution
• user albums, might be able to do something but not sure yet
• front page, will be installing portal soon but wanted to get forums squared away first

I have imported the Thanks from the old system and added them to everyone's like count. Tapatalk works, I have a rewrite set to forward you from the old links to the new ones and old Google results work, etc etc.

Overall I think the migration went pretty smoothly.

Also, what's a cool new feature that you've found that maybe someone else hasn't yet?

Just noticed I can't add a picture when editing a post via tapatalk not sure about desktop version.

That was mentioned earlier, I saw the same behavior on mine, not sure why. I don't have control over Tapatalk though, so it is what it is unless they change it.

It did go smooth. My first problem is with pm's. It only shows like 10 per page so it takes a while to find an old message.

When I post on a thread it doesnt show up on new posts for me.

Find recently started threads under a user's profile doesn't work the same. It lists every post they have made but not the threads individually.

I see 20 conversations/page, not 10. Once you get more conversations, it will actually show more info per page than the old because one line is a whole conversation, not an individual message. So, if you had 20 conversations but each had 10 messages back/forth, you'd actually have 200 messages available on that one page and laid out better IMO.

When you post on a thread, it's a 'read' thread, New Posts is new 'unread' threads. I may see if I can change that behavior but don't think I've seen a setting for it yet.

Recent threads is under the Information tab on a profile. http://www.x-h2o.com/index.php?search/member&user_id=1&content=thread The Postings tab is just that, recent posts.

Give me an example, maybe copy a link, because the only links that aren't valid are the ones that were in the archive pages (the plain text ones). Those archive pages will drop off the results.

I just posted a thread in the Daytona freeride section for test ride etiquette and I didn't see it pop up on the new posts page??? I felt it could be an important thread and wanted more people to see it. Any help would be awesome Mr. Jett

At that point it's a read post, so it doesn't show up in new unread posts. There is a link over on the right that says Recent Posts that will show yours also if you want to see it.

How many 'conversations' can you have? Will box fill up like on old system?

Right now it's unlimited, but yes I'm going to install a mod to limit it, otherwise our database size would skyrocket. PMs were the second largest item I had to import from the old system, so that gives you an idea how many we have.

The spy feature is a cool tool to sit around and watch.

Also can you modify the hover for viewing threads. The popup always floats to the top, which usually isn't in view since my window usually isn't maximized. Floating to the right instead would be just peachy

It does not seem that reply's in the for sale section show up when looking at "New Post" but whole ski's seems to and its possible I'm retarded can you fix that?

^^^ is probably the behavior you're seeing. If you post a reply, you've already seen it, so it won't show up in **unread** New Posts because you've already read it. On the New Posts page, on the right is a link to Recent Posts that shows all read/unread ones.

Its pretty cool so far but I agree, find recent threads and or posts when clicking a profile or even finding your own has been an issue for me. Prolly a way but I dont see it.
I used to use that feature ALOT.
