New Guy advice on a purchase.

Hey all,

new guy over here, I am thinking of getting back into the stand up scene after a LONG layoff...pretty much its gonna be like a first time ride all over again. I am a lot older and well lets say my body has done some changing....lol

I am wondering if someone in the know wouldn't mind taking a look at a ski for me and giving me the straight talk.

I am interested in getting back on the water with the best ski for the best price that I can. I my ride style plan is to go after wake/surf jumping freestyle (mostly boat wake) rather than race bouy.

I know there is gonna be a learning curve and a lot of crashing/falling/scrubing/wiping out and I am cool with that its how you learn.

Anyways really just wanna know if this ski I have in mind to make an offer on has the setup I need to accomplish what I "think I am after"

Thanks

Welcome and good to see another "old" guy getting back in the sport. I had a long break before getting another standup myself. What kind of ski are you looking at getting? From what you are saying I would recommend getting a superjet.

Thanks Guys, it's been a grind. I have been on the hunt for about month wearing out the letters "superjet" on my keyboard in the CL search box. I have come across what "appears" to be a nicely mod'ed 750 but I honestly dont know my elbows form you my know what at this point in the game. I had a nice back and forth going (I thought) and a tentative date set to look at a SJ but that day has come and gone...so I am at a LOSS.

I wanted to ask before posting a link, so here it is....

http://modesto.craigslist.org/boa/5683624233.html

now this is not the only ski the guy is listing and his others are NICE too he has another 750 this one is identified as an SXI and he has an X2 that has an 800 in it listed. In that you can see a BOB hull in the background of the pic...so it would seem he in into ski's. Hell someone on here might know him.

Let me know what you think, and if you have other ideas I am open to them.

Jonolove, very nice fleet. I do not think I can PM. Which I would prefer as I don't want to put anyone on blast with it possibly being their ad.

Roundnose is plenty stable and good for general recreational riding. I like buying skis that are more on the stock-side of the spectrum; they have a better chance of not being built by a hack. These are a couple nice superjets. Price is a tad high but I thought it was in your range since that 750 was 4000$.

Good luck
