Hi everyone - I am new to the forum but been reading posts for a while. Always have wanted a stand up jet ski and will make the investment for next season. I tried riding a super jet a few years back for about 15min, it was a 2015 at a friends house. It was a bit rough to get up and stay up....
But I was 30lbs heavier and not in good shape. I am currently 51 years old, 225lbs at 6ft 4inch height, and now in good shape. I am sure it will be a challenge at first but look forward to the challenge of learning. I want to just have fun, no racing, acrobatics, ... what would you get if you were me? I am open to new or used not really concerned about the price. My current thinking in order are: new superjet, used SXR 800, and a distant third new SXR 1500. I like the idea of the new superjet - only question is given my size is it too small? The 800 SXR would be ideal I think given the larger tray but will need to buy used and really don’t want to spend time on a lot of maintenance, the SXR 1500 seems too large with less maneuverability. So these are opinions based off no real world experience. What do you all think would be best for a larger newbie rider? Thanks for the help.
