Hello everyone. It’s been a month since I bought my new SJ. I am new to skies world and quite interested in learning from the great members in this forum. I've been spending plenty of time in the forum and learning new stuffdaily.

My ski:
Make & Model: 2011 Yamaha SuperJet
Price: $6900
Color: White

Riding a bone stock SJ was exciting for the first couple of weeks, then I had the chance to try a modified 08 SJ and the smile on face was that big :icon16: . Huge Huge difference.
While surfing the web for performance parts, caught my attention the following kit from Riva Racing:
http://www.rivaracing.com/pwc_pkgs/ry_rpm_sj_08.asp

I found it quite interested and have almost all the parts that I was planning to buy grouped in one kit.
The question here is how good is this kit in terms of performance, handlingand durability> bearing in mind that I am looking to setup the ski forfreestyle and I ride most of the time on flat-water.
If any has bought this kit can give me some feedback I would reallyappreciate it.

Many Thanks,
Bastaki

Some of the parts in that kit really won't be what you want for freestyle.

I would really just call or email either Team Scream or Art at Jetworks or maybe the guys at Thrust Innovations.
If you talk to a reputable shop like these they will give you a full package that will work better for you application.

Here are some of the things I would suggest:

Factory B Pipe with limited chamber
ADA head with 35cc pump gas domes(depending on altitude)
Impros 9/15 Hooker Impeller
Worx 201 intake grate
Leave stock ride plate
List goes on, but I gotta get back to work.....a customer just walked in

I ride a SuperFrk WannaBe
that would definitaly make a huge smile on your face. The only thing im not sure about is that impeller. And keep the stock flame arrestors. You could also d cut your stock ride plate. I personally would get a hooker impeller from Jetmaniac. ANd the last thing I would say is get a limited chamber factory pipe instead of that mod pipe.

It seems like a good package but i like to pick the parts i want.... I have a 08 superjet that was all stock when i got it. I just did my first proformance mod. Factory b pipe with mod chamber... I also have a ada head for it that is not installed yet. But i got both mods brand new for 600 bucks. A guy got them for his ski then changed his mind... Just look for the deals. Make sure you can get the pitch prop you want and everything fits your ridding style. Those kits usually point you tward either racing or freestyle. Just make sure its the direction you want to go befor you drop that much money.

If you plan on doing engine work in the future like porting get the mod chamber. It will be better in the long run and on a stock ski with the right jetting its hard to tell the diiff between limited and mod

all you need is a b-pipe+ada head with 35cc domes+ MSD enhanser + hooker 10/16 and a worx 228 intake grate.
total package should be about $1900 and will definetly put a smile on your face :)

Thanks all for the great information and support. I am sure that your recommendations would be of a huge value. I will go ahead with what tipafew and waterfreak recommended and it seems that it would save me few hundersds as well for now ;)

Any major differences between hooker 10/16 & hooker 9/15 ? I've read many threads where people are confused and it seems that not many people understand the basics about the different numbers. Myself, I don't want to get deep into understanding them however; a breif summarry of major difference would be great to make me pick the right one for my ride.

From what I understand a 10/16 is designed for a highly modded/ported motor. 9/15 is more of a stock to limited setup. Your stock prop is going to be extremely close to the 9/15, you wont notice much of a difference.

If your looking to save money you could skip the prop for now and get a big smile with a Limited B-Pipe, ADA girdled head, msd/epic enhancer. I would add a quick steer plate, and footholds first..... handling mods then motor mods is my recommendation. The 08+ equivelent to a Worx 201 is pretty much madatory, you have to put that on first.

havent ridden one but they say the 08+ impellers are good
get pole limiting strap, a brap strap (keeps your hod on better), b-pipe, ada head (also hear good thing about blowsion kommander head w/ girdle kit), msd is more straight forward and seems better for those that dont like stuff to break or need tobe tuned

I'd be lost without the x
prop should be good for now

For steering the only easy fix I have found for the 08+ steering is this from schmity1. I have it on my ski, it works great. if you can just get the steering cable off of him, u can use any aftermarket turn plate.

FOOTHOLDS should be pretty much at the top of your mod list. personally i think they are the best mod for a stock ski.

then motor mods: pipe, head, ignition

also, look into straight bars if you get a turn plate that takes them, will *cut* 2 inches from your pole

Ordered so far the following:
-ADA head with 35cc
-Worx 228 intake grate
-MSD Enhancer
-Dual cooling Kit
-Blowsion Kommand Billet Steering system with turn plate for std 0 & 4 + Blowsion bars + ODI grips
-Bilge Pump Dual Kit
-Wamiltons Scupper Valve

I decided to leave the stock ride plate and stock Impeller based on members reviews. Regarding the factory B limited pipe I tried with many websites including factorypipe themselves and all of them stated that the ltd pipe is out of stock until January :(

The mod pipe is available, would it make a big difference in terms of (lost) hp at low end if I got the Mod pipe?

for your set up, get the FP limited pipe

and get the hooker if you can!
