Octane New Octane Owner

Hello,
New to the site, just bought my first Octane yesterday. It's a 2002, still at the dealership. He says the drive shaft is loose, and thinks it's the pump bearings. Sounds more like the driveline bearing to me. Anyone have any ideas based on what he told me? If it is the driveline bearing, is it likely it took out the pump bearings or anything else too? I'm thinking I buy a new driveline bearing kit, pump bearing kit, and rubber coupler. It is also a saltwater boat... Is there anything else I should be looking at getting for now? This is my first non-SeaDoo...
Thanks,
Alex

Why does the dealer think the driveshft is loose? It "sounds" like the bearing is bad? A little more description would be helpful.

If you are going to take it apart, you must pull the motor to remove the driveshaft. I can tell you if it's a saltwater boat, the driveshaft will likely be frozen to the bearing in the housing. There are numerous resouorces including a service manual on this site to help.

I have been reading up on the service manual and some of the stuff on here. I just want to have everything ready to go so I can work on this when I get home, as I am finishing a deployment right now...

So the Octane made it home today. So far I know I need a new impeller. I already have the bearing kit, does anyone have a lead on the impeller...? Also, are there o-rings I need to change when doing the pump? I got the impression from the manual there are, but they should be reusable, correct? The boat is definately used, but looks good so far!
Thanks, Alex

That ski should have a stainless solas Mag pump in it. If so it's worth quite a bit of money so don't be so quick to give up on it.

Post up some pics of the damage.

Pretty sure I need a new impeller, was going to try to order one tomorrow.

I guess I can make the pump work till I find a replacement. I have new bearings I'll put in it.

is that a huge gap at the top of the impeller? i'm pretty sure impros will fix that impeller up to oem specs for 40ish bucks. way cheaper then another impeller.
