New OEM JSS reconditioned HT Coil with EPIC HX3

AS the topic says - has anyone run into troubles combining a new ht coil with JSS wirings, and an epic CDI?

Cheers

If you run a kava coil the wires are short - so to extend them and to waterproof the end towards the coil.

Cool :) It's just I want longer wires on a new kava coil, but I've bin recommender to use it as it is, with OEM wiring. So just wanted to hear if anyone else had any issues, especially with combining JSS coils with an hx3.

It's a Gary Watson hull - but using a type 9 exhaust, and the wires are rubbing against the Lord mounts and the wire has a 90 degree angel straight out of the ebox.. Not the best :/

The new epics seem to handle everything so far. Scotts had the original epic and all kinds of issues but now runs the HX3 on the exact same components with zero issues. If there was ever a system to prove the HX3 to be rock solid, it is Scott's.

I still run the original epic with all JSS electrics, including coil, stator and start/stop and haven't had a single issue with it. I even run a TBM flywheel on the old and new flashes and never had issues either way.

Good info right there!! I've had nothing but issues with the old one - but I think that it all comes down to a bad ground connection. And generally old electronics.. All is send for a complete rebuild at JSS, so can't wait to see the results!

We changed out every single component on ScottS's including the ground and never could get it to straighten out. Others used brand new electronics from a brand new ski and still had issue so there really doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason to it.

If I was you, I would take advantage of ATP's 10yr anniversary deal and upgrade to an HX3, Chris is offering a deal right now to upgrade.

Awesome, are you sending your old one back?

I ask because I really want to get to the bottom of what the actual issue is with the old epics and need one for testing. Scott lost his before we could ever get to the root of the issue and my mind just can't let it go. I'm even going as far as setting up a complete running engine on my bench just to test out some things. I'm not sure if I can even reproduce the issue but I am determined to try.

Love the dedication!! I've send mine for a swap, so it's in Chris's hands now. But it could be nice to get answers!

I am using the HX3 with JSS coil and no issues from those two. On my previouse Superjet with type 4 dry pipe we installed the e-box upside down so the ignition coil wires come out on the carb side instead of exhaust side of the e-box. The HX3 works great with a stock lightened flywheel, I love it. Great mod.
