For what you have into those brains I'm sure you could be almost at the cost if a lake

You might be right LOL.

That's why I'm hoping for something new to replace it.

I buy 2 MSD total loss with every ski I bought , one in the ski and the other as a backup.

Every 3-6 months a replace a brain.

Trust me I tried everything it's just that our sea is described as "salt with water in it"

Even with an RRP box the brain just dies.

Have you tried running the lower voltage Kawi coils in place of 50,000 volt MSD coils ? Saltwater and 50,000 volts spells trouble.

Yes I did, Xscream recommended those back in 2010 (I don't know if they still run them now)

The wires would come out of the coils after 5 -10 rides and Kawasaki coils are not available so I have to order them from the US and wait.

The only thing that survives is the Yamaha OEM electronics.

Once during a barrel roll trick (3 meters above water) I had an electric shock from the throttle trigger in mid air and I flew off the ski (upside down position) 4 - 5 meters away as I was told from fellow riders at the water.

Salt water and total loss = trouble

First I have heard of this, XS indicated some of the European guys have had better results in saltwater with the Kawi coils.

Snow. Smh. What's to know. It's coming along soon.

Ice We need a reliable alternative to msd tl in this sport bad. Programmable, small, affordable,
And the most important reliability. We will see on that last requirement. Did water get in your rrp box and kill msd brain

According to my mechanic at that time and from what I have seen no water entered the RRP box.

The brain just died and ofcorse good luck getting a replacement from MSD.

None of the brains lasted more than 6 months mostly weekend rides.

I don't care at this point if something new comes up with double the price as long as I can hit the start button and it works every time giving ofcorse the same power of the total loss.

I've been riding surf with the same MSD TL brain for over three years, now, and I bought it used... You're doing something wrong...

Can you send me pictures of your setup?

My MSD setups were built in the US by professional builders before they are sent out to me!

My MSD TL also has around 3 years to it, only around 50 hours though.
But my setup never missed a beat, even though i mainly ride salt.

A tip for everyone is to let NO of the original wires from the MSD brain out in the hull, were they are exposed to salt water and salt "vapor"
I made a commen positive 12v+ on the starter relay, that my red and violet connects to (hard wired) Same for ground, i got 2 grounds.
But once a wired is exposed to salt water it goes extremely fast with degrading it. Ask me how i know (I'm a electrician, and the past 5 years i worked offshore)
