FX-1 New project from the "mafia"

Here's the latest project from my shop.....My nephew's FX.

He just completed it in time for Daytona and I thought I'd post some pics. It started as a ratty a$$ blank hull and it came out really nice, especially for a first timer at ski projects!!

I'm very pleased with how my first project ski turned out. Big thanks to special fx, FLASH-FX, nuklear6, and ntrsspray for helping me make this project possible. So the specs are...

FX-1 hull... bond line filled in... reinforced from nose to tail with carbon fiber.
Filled in the area around the pole bracket with 4 layers of biax.
Ground all the green goo down in the hull and sealed the bottom of the hull with epoxy.
Custom drain line in addition to the stock bilge.
Tray was given one crossmember for more support. I widened the tray to 20" accross... 1" underpad and then turf.
Custom fat tubbies wrapped in 2 layers of 1208 biax.
650 pump swap with 6mm setback 800 sxr prop and r&d pump cone. X2 nozzle jacked to the sky.
Hot Products pole bracket
Pole is from an 08' superjet and I shortened it 2 1/4"
Superjet gas tank
Running a wet jet motor with lightened flywheel and a b-pipe.... for now

Last think I need to do is fit and turf my front foothold from the Pancake.

Sanoman... the reddish sealent you are referring to is a mix of epoxy with 404 and 407... red tint comes from the 407.

SuziQ... i'm very happy with how the paint turned out. The bottom is satin black and the top is painted with Porsche Guards red. It will really pop in the sun! As far as graphics go... what you see is what you get. I spent way too much time scaping old decals and stickers off with a heat gun/ razor blades/ and lacquer thinner. After that I dont want to put any decals back on it! haha So its staying the way it is!

Nah I can't rush it, but someone else did at the end to gather some space. Won't say any Special names or anything

Decal eraser wheel next time... you can do a whole boat in about a 1/2 hour.

Looks great, love the tubbies and footholds.

Thanks dude.... yeah i learned about the eraser wheel afterwards... i used it to take the "waverunner" sticker off the handle pole. It was soooo easy when i used the wheel.. will definitely use it for the next project! Have another empty FX hull waiting to go under the knife!

Happy to read that! My preference is typically no graphics, especially advertising graphics. The sleek look of a well chosen color and/or some real artwork that isn’t too busy is what usually catches my eye. Will be interested to see a few pics in the sun.

Yes sir... i like the sea poo design... no drilling holes to mount filler neck. Just put the seal on first... drop the neck in and screw the nut on from underneath! Thanks... i cant wait to see how the hull handles with the tubbies.
