I really like this hull. It's a niche thing though, not many kids would be good enough for it, but many kids that are around jet skis a lot just may be up for it. Watching Coy Curtis on it this weekend was awesome. He absolutely loved it. An 11 year old backfipped it on Monday at Body Beach. A lot of people were having fun with it.

It's a great option for the ride person if you can afford it. I could see myself buying one in a few years if I thought my daughter could make use of it. We will see.

Do you really think a kid needs/can use a AM ski? I feel like its a good idea but in reality you can just mod up a super jet for a kid and not spend 5-8 k on a hull for them to do 180s and other things that can be done on a superjet. Once they reach the level for am they'll most likely be close to the right size for most am hulls. But if there's a kid out there back flipping on one i want a link to the video...

There was an 11 year old at the beach that it fit perfect and he 180 to flipped it, and did it with a set up wake. There is videos out there. He rides a dvx, but it is way too big for him to flip. This was made for kids like him.

I semi agree with ya as most kids would be glad to just be on the water via 300sx, js440/550, SJ, whatever. But there’s folks out there that can afford the best for their kids or this sport is their life so want to get kids heavily involved so be it.

On another note I wonder if we’ll see older riders rocking these as a strictly comp flatwater boat? Or are these really too small for 140-160lb rider?

What if there was a hull that was slightly larger and a fraction of the price. If It didn't need a special pipe. Didn't have fancy foot holds or anything crazy. What if it cAme in more flavors than just 5 colors and your kids could decide what colors THEY wanted for it. What if you could be all in completely built for under 6-7k.

My daughter is 5 and I have been talking about doing this for a while with someone. Not every kid is gonna wanna go out and ride a little tiny hull and not even be able to cruise around with mom and dad if the hull is to small and doesn't ride decent in a large space.

my daughter knows how to drive the super chicken already, rides the stand ups with us and has fun. You don't see here wanting to jump and flip and spin. Most of our kids just want to play and hang out and might dabble with the jetski. I don't want to spend that kind of money for her to just dabble. I don't want to throw her to the wolves on a tiny little hull that she will outgrow.

I want to introduce her to standups in a fun, stable, controllable ski that she can grow into and I can mod accordingly as her ski increases. If it's slightly larger than it can be stable and not porpoise and want to flip. Somthing slightly larger will fit a bigger tank and not require a custom b pipe. It doesn't need fancy footholds or trim or any of that.

If the hull was like 3500
Who else would be interested in this?

Its relative. 8k is a lot of money for most of us, but some people have 3 rickters because they cant choose between red, blue or green.

It is to short too be used in competition per the current rules.

It is for up to 120lbs kids. It was built for those young kids that push the sport at young age (just like every other sport) it wasn't made for little kids to learn on, that's not what it's about. It's for kids to get into freestyle at a young age and actually be able to progress and do tricks.
If you want your kids to learn, ride around the lake and have fun riding with other non flatwater skis then get them a 300sx or superjet.

That ^^ is what It was built for.. I was there watching this. He has a dvx that he rides good, but could not flip it until he got bigger. They flew out just to test the new rickter hull.

I disagree. IMO a kid can't progress when he's riding a ski that's way too big for him to fully control. This ski is more stable and proportioned for a small rider. Can a kid learn on a 300? Sure but they will progress 10x
faster on the NinjaX.

Young riders are what this sport needs and I am stoked to see Team Rickter step up and make this.

2 problems that now must be over come.

1. Not that it would bother me but most states have a minimum age requirement. Fl say 14 for a solo rider. Second degree misdemeanor to knowingly allow anyone under 14 to operate a jet ski in FL waters.

2. The price will not allow acces for a lot of kids to get one. Kind of going to be up to dealers and team riders to have these available for young guns to ride IMO. Just by letting them ride young it would grow interest in the sport and a sort of brand loyalty IMO.

Yeah true about the age limit thing, I think almost all states have about the same law on that. But its a freestyle ski, so you'll have to do it the freestyle way.. if you know what I mean..lol
As far as price, I'm not surprised at all. It is built the same as a normal rickter, just with a LITTLE less material. It is the same process, using the same parts/materials. Only way to get the price down is not being a rickter.. I'm sure we'll see some of the other guys start to make something like it.
Side note, this thing looks SOOO stable for the kids riding it.

I agree on the price. My wife and I are try to figure out how to get oe for our kids. But the cost of the hull plus dropping in he sj guts will be expensive.

To bad the glass/carbon hull wasn't 3500 and carbon 5500. I think you'd have way more parents jumping on them.

It's a hard pill to swallow when the hulls 3/4 the size of a rickter, maybe smaller. Yet the same price

I would think the secondary market for this hull will be very strong. So even if you make the big jump now you will eventually get it back when you sell it.

One of my favorite stories about my dad is how he cashed in my savings bonds " intended for college lol " to help buy the wood to build a vert ramp in our backyard. We were never going to recoup that money.
