New RP Race Performance exhaust chamber

I spoke with Tony on this and, a long way to go to understand how to get it to work. You can't just make a pipe and have it work out of the box. Every pipe out there spent a lot of time being tested, moded and re-tested, but it sounds like a good start. Very much looking forward to see how it develops.

I've always kinda wondered about that. There are only a handful of pipes out there for watercraft and people use the same pipe on a HUGE variety of motors. People put a pfp on everything from a stock 701 (I'm sure somebody has done it) up to 1200cc monsters). Pump gas, race gas, port timing all over the place, ignition curves wildly varying. I don't see how that could be any more optimum than a random combination of expanding then contracting cones for all of those various motor configurations.

Similiar situation with TNT pipes, B-pipes.

Seems like there would be at the very least something like different size restrictors at the outlet and general recommendations for port timing/ignition curves from the people that make the pipes.
 
A pipe is a mathematical equation, then tested and reevaluated. The way it should be done: Build engine, build pipe to match engine, test on dyno, test on water, re-do pipe, test on water, re-do pipe, test on water, re-do ,re-do re-do and so on and so on. A dyno is NOT the final word on this, but water testing is. A good start is a good start. Zack from PHP and I have been talking on the phone for hours about this, we also sat together and watched BUN rule at the WF, the pipe used is a big part of that. Just because its new doesn't mean it will work, so don't jump in unless your willing to cut and weld, oh you might stick an engine or two.

Not 100% sure about that my memory is a little hazy, but I know there was a really high end Hurricane for sale right after world finals and it had a Bun Pipe, and I remember some kinda weird straps and chatter that they were for that purpose.

Of course IJSBA has any information about who competed in their events well hidden, and nobody promotes anything, so the few minutes I spent googling trying to figure out who that was came back with nothing.

It was eli, I just looked up the for sale post, you are right, bun chamber

That was Eli Kemnitz
 
ski clinic was running the XS1200 before the tpe and they said the bun pipe created a lot more power than the power factor.
the stinger on the bun ended up in a weird spot and from what I remember, they had the waterbox in backwards or upside down.

Guys, you can't just bolt on a pipe like BUN and have it work perfect out of the box. It may work better here or there but to get it to work as you see at WF,s, that is a whole nother thing. It's a tuners pipe. Derrick and Eli Kemnitz deserve a huge amount of credit for the tuning of their boats. Eli's boat was very impressive and Sr.'s may be more but they are world caliber tuners and they did a lot to get "the package" to work the way they did. You also have to give them credit for seeing what others missed til now. The PFP pipe is plug and play, the BUN is more complicated, but for top tier packages, it has possibilities! This new RP pipe looks to open another possibility, with a little development. Damn winter getting in the way.
