your going to love that steering setup, have it myself and it rocks.. good luck with the installation instructions, they're doable but horrible!

I feel like I cheated myself and my ski by not running this setup earlier . Not ever comparable with other setups. And wide bars are the :):):):)

Excuse my arrogance.. But what makes this set up so good? I'm fairly new to this sport.. I've got a sn with the blowsion riser setup, what are the pros and cons?!
Riser bars seem to be generally wider and they save the back a little (because you are less hunched over). Therefore, it's easier to lower the pole when riding -- giving you a lower center of gravity.
I don't know of any cons.

i guess i worded that awkwardly... yes i have risers and will never go back, they are awesome! i was asking about the steering system... ive got the inexspensive blowsion set up.. i was wondering why the rrp was the best.. what are the differences basically?? do you have to have an rrp pole to run the rrp system??

and as for remounting, i find it actually easier... i was letting my friend ride my ski as i rode his 550... his bars dropped all the way to the tray, which i found myself doing more work to pick the pole up to get my hands on. whereas my risers are about a foot off the tray... i have long arms so i prefer the riser all day long.

How much 'rise' is actually in the riser bar? Does it bring your hands level with the top of the chinpad? Higher than that? (I've never seen a ski set up with risers)
Thanks

Depends on the bend of your bars.. I use mountain bike bars that is about flush with the chin pad..( there's pics of it in the superjet show off thread.. It's the camo sn. I know some people use pro taper se bars which have a gnarly bend which will certainly put the bars above the chin pad..

Depends on how much rise the bars have and at what angle you install them.
RRP makes bars with 75mm rise (3 inches). If you install that straight, you got 3 inches.

Agreed. I prefer any fat bar system because I come from a MX background and the "riser" type handlebars are similar to a motorcycles bars. Traditional "V-Bars" that are used on skis always felt strange and put my wrists in a weird downward position. With the riser/fat bars, it gives you the option to roll the bars up or down in the clamp, giving you an infinite amount of adjust-ability in your riding position. The additional width also suits me with my MX background as motorcycle handlebars are much wider then traditional watercraft V-bars.

I wouldn't say the Blowsion Kommand steering system with their "Phat" clamp is inferior to the RRP system. Both system are quality systems and comparable in price.

I am surprised more people haven't converted to these types of systems.

getting your 185lb body closer to the ski lowers your center of gravity more then lowering your 9lb pole...with riser bars you cannot have as low of a center of gravity...they offer zero performance advantages...

Just curious as to how it brings you center of gravity lower. Yes the pole is on the hood but your body position is still
Taller. I've ridin with this setup and did not like it. Love straight bars and shorty turn plate
