Hey guys this is the only forum I go on and I know a few of you ride in the dirt too so I wanted to share with you guys built a set up to haul my bike with no straps from the bars some pics of the work IMG_20170415_100539.jpg IMG_20170415_173649.jpg IMG_20170508_155348.jpg IMG_20170508_155406.jpg IMG_20170508_155659.jpg I didn't get a pic of it strapped in but the strap goes between the tire and fork into the ratchet with no rubbing this was the mock up of it IMG_20170415_170803.jpg and this is how it looks going down the road it's solid just as good as using straps from the bars except this set up doesn't come unhooked and let your bike fall:mad: IMG_20170508_160102.jpg thanks for looking

That's an awesome idea! Great execution too!

Isn't it bad for the shocks to travel while compressed or is that only if you compress them too much?

Thanks Boyer I wanted to clamp on and not make any holes in my bed . And yes it's not very good on things I had a fork saver goes between the tire and the fender to keep the forks from compressing when strapped down also makes a more secure tie not as much side to side play . But with this set up there's no compression and it's secure

Ya, I want to get(or make) a fork saver/spacer thing for when I trailer my bike. Ive talked to a lot of pro's and they say as long as its not all the way compressed and its not for a long time(days), it will be fine on trips.

BTW, Nice bike Phil!

Hey Troy thanks man and yeah I agree I've had leaky forks seals on my Yamaha but I don't blame tieing it down I built my fork saver out of metal but you could easily make one out of a 2x4 :)

I'm working on something kind of similar for my Tacoma. Using the bed bolts as attachment points and making it a quick disconnect so I can set it on the ground and use it as a roll-on wheel stand while at the track too...

How does the back chock lock into place? I hate using straps... I have the Pitbull restraints for my trailer and they work great for sportbikes!

That sounds cool I always bring my stand make it easier to unload too . The rear hinge has a strap welded on it and the frame has the ratchet welded to it the rear hinge comes up the strap goes between the tire and fork then tighten the ratchet kinda like we use on our hoods for skis haha
