Any business can make money if run right.
There some great jetski shops and some crappy shops. That's what the feedback section is for.

What does this thread have to do with good shops, bad shops and feedback??

I guess nothing, but thats what people in this thread were talking about. Wether a jetski shop can make money or not. It's beinging done, look at JSU. They open in 03 and have grown into 1 of the biggest shops in the US.
Oh, don't buy from a shop that lies about having a dyno.

46 votes and the average is 2380.43 per vote!!! I brought this back to life to try and prove my point in the thread I started in freestyle section about sponsorship. I'm gonna make a wild azz guess and say the people spending the big money actually compete in sanctioned events, hence my point, more competitors=more $ spent with our vendors that we all use!

Now to let the bashing begin again and all of u tell me what a dumb azz I am for trying to help all of us grow our sport and our vendors business.

Why in the hell would I spend more money than i need to just because a shop is closer??? that is ridiculous... I buy what I need...

this thread is full of so many "ifs", it's crazy

I thought of it here, simply because Canada has no support. Not necessarily a shop with machining capability, just a small dealer with little to no inventory, riders can wait for parts as longg as I could get them in a timely manner.
If I could do as much as save people on customs and shipping it would be worth it. We have no support up here and our market is very small.

All I'm looking for in a shop is someone who can ship to Canada for a fair rate. Blowsion was good with this. Not calling UPS and have them write everything up. Take the extra 5 mintues to satisfy a Canadian customer.

All in due time my friend, all in due time...

I dont think having a shop that is closer was a factor. Just one that gave good service and turnaround.

I think if you have a shop that is in town is a factor...

Example... Over the summer I was having some problems...
my bendix, ate my stator and flywheel and instead of taking a day to
get intouch with someone... I shot down to local shop and got all
the parts, no shipping and was back together and riding that day !
:woot:

So shops that are close help, For me, guys that Help:
24/7, R-rated, Lacey, TR KAwy, Jet medics, moto x !

Makes a big difference ! IMO !

I also found Watcon and Jet trim are very good with Canadian Customers they will work with you so we dont pay the brokarage charges and have decent shipping rates.

I love compnie's that will help us out here in the North

What I have found is that you would go broke trying to stock everything, its seems that no matter what you have in stock ,its not the right color, right bend of handlebar, right size etc etc.I have gotten where I only stock items that move quickly or items that fit several units such as spark plugs, starter solenoids, black handgrips, carb kits, gaskets, that sort of thing, anything else I can have in two to three days anyway. The amount of money it would take to put in a decent parts stock and sit on it till it sold would be staggering.

Not bashing you at all, but I would say that VERY FEW of the people spending the big bucks compete in anything. Most of the guys I know who have high dollar boats have no interest in competition. Just look at Chuck(CGRacing), Tricky, Joe(njfl), me, for example. All of us are just regular rec riders(especially me). We all have TONS of time and money in our stuff and just do it because we like riding and wrenching. I also know we all have our favorite sources for parts and supplies because of quality or customer service or any number of other factors. Price notwithstanding, the biggest factor for me is the relationship I have with a particular vendor. Jetworks and Watcon are two of my favorites for this reason. Both are just just good people.

I agree, I deal mostly with one local shop that also gets most of the parts I need. The biggest factor for me is the good relationship I have with the people that I deal with. If someone treats me right and is available for advice and takes the time to answer questions, then I will reward them with all the business I can give them. I will also go out of my way to recommend everybody I know to do the same. Customer loyalty has to be earned through trust and fair dealing IMO. I have seen / dealt with enough of the shady / scumbags over the years to learn who to watch / stay away from. If a shop or person try to rip me off or have a crappy attitude I will do everything I can to let others know of their practices and my opinon of them..

i would really like to see some of the skis that have over 5k a year spent on them
