New Ski got some questions...

Picked it up last week, it's an 07 with 15 hours, really clean no scratches on the hull or just some minor stuff on the rub rails.

It has an aluminum handpole, Bars, Grips, Bar ends, Limiting rope, and metal Hood latch.

I have a versi plug R coming, and a bilge fitting, i plan on picking up a rule 500gph Bilge pump, Im really not sure what else to do, as it already has a pole and basic mods.

Anybody know what pole that is? I'm kinda short, i was thinking about posting it up for trade for a shorter pole.

I'm also planning on messing around in surf and boat traffic, not really gonna race, maybe carve some buoys but nothing crazy, any suggestions for rideplate and grates? I tried to find a listing of rideplates and what each design does to improve the ski but i came up with nothing.

Does anyone have a storage solution? I need a place to put a rope and my license and all my coastguard crap, they break my balls out by my beach house.

Thanks in advance for all your help.

Matt

My rope is inside in the corner just below hose fitting and paperwork in the zip-lock bag under one of the tank straps

storage in an SXR??? it's like a SUV you can store your garage in it lol
I have the tow rope clipped the gas tank and tucked up on the side, water where the tools were, and water bottle by the battery too, holly crap.... you can store alot of stuff in it, and still have plenty of room.... I LOVE the SXR for that (as well as being my tow ski)
the regi info and first aid kit are also on the tank straps, as well as the distress flag and flares (i cover our a$$ for the tarts that can't comprehend the flag or flares rule) been there done that......

Thanks guys!

I love the RRP but unless i got a trade of some sort i couldnt justify taking a loss on that pole. I mean it works fine for me lol.

As for the storage i want to put some sort of compartment, maybe one of those small "dry" box thingys somewhere in the hull to keep all my junk in once place. I'll have to do some searching.

As for rideplates, what does D cutting your plate do? I work at a machine shop so i could mill my plate.

Any free mods? I know guys cut the bottom half of their hoods to lose some weight, I think i might deck my head at work and grab a lil more compression. I run 93 anyway.

I laminated my registration and boater's license (a must have in MI if born after '78) and used double-sided velcro tape to stick it to the inside of my hood by the fire extinguisher.

The RRP is really nice, but if you aren't rich, you can put a UMI pole on like i did. All you need to make it work is fatter pole bushings (blowsion), a stock superjet chinpad (like $10 on ebay), and a custom blowsion turn plate.

I'm 6'7" 230 lbs, so I run the TBM plate. It's longer, keeps the nose down, and it helps you carve like no other. But if you're like 5'7" 150 lbs, keep the stock plate.

That being said, I don't have a pipe or anything fancy, but I can still do solid stabs and stuff. I rode an 800 with a factory wet pipe, and frankly i was disappointed by the small power increase. So all I did was put high flow flame arrestors on (you have to rejet your carbs for that), and put on a freestyle stubby pump cone. I'm too poor to do anything else at this point...

Okay, so i was riding today, let my friend ride it, he bailed and the ski died, when he went to restart it, it wouldnt click over. when i got back to the house, i found a good amount of corrosion on the battery terminals.

I also found that there were no filters screens or anything inside the intake box, im pretty sure theres supposed to be something there, right?
