Hi everyone,
I'm working with Spyjet and Ligier Sport on this project, and as I'm an english guy living in France, I can perhaps give you more details without the language / google translate barrier.
The bottom deck is all new, but borrows from the sxr, superjet, hydrospace and has some innovations of it's own. The top deck is based on a superjet, but there is more room to fit any motor you want in there, be it a yamaha or kawasaki 3 cylinder, seadoo 951, or in this case the Rotax 900.
I was lucky enough to test ride the protoype in june this year at my own lake, and I have to say I was very very impressed. The motor was in 90hp guise, it was very lively, there's no turbo so no lag, and it drives through the rev range smoothly and seamlessly. It's as lively as a superjet engine with a pipe from the bottom, but pulls as cleanly and strongly as a hydrospace 110.
As an ex-racer and now freestyler, the hull for me was superb. It's really easy to ride, stable thanks to the widened tray area, very manoevrable, but holds a perfect line in long sweeping turns, with almost no effort required through the steering.
The machine is available to order now, specced as you see it in the photos. That's to say billet pole and steering, jettrim mats, stainless steel impeller, integrated sponsons, 110hp rotax 4 stroke motor, onboard computer mounted in the chin pad. The price is 12500€ before tax and shipping, so yes it is more expensive than a superjet, but you're getting a whole lot more machine for you money. Everything on this machine is widely available on the market already, so there won't be any problem with sourcing spare parts.
As mentioned in the post above, negotiations are ongoing for mass producing this machine. Once we have the green light, the price will be reduced significantly, that's as much as we can say at the moment. As soon as we have more news, i'll post again here.
