good idea but poor execution...its just so ugly..

im going to build my boy a scale replica for a 3year old..hes obsessed with the jetski at 11months old..ill have to start working on it soon...

definitely wont make it wide like that one..kids will never learn to drop a shoulder on a barge like that...

js 300/440/500 (maybe even 650sx) with a block/wedge governer taped to the bars.. FTW.

Cheap and won't be grown out of so fast.

i started riding when i was 8 on the river we go to. here in cali you have to be 16 to ride by your self or 12 accompanied with a parent. Started out on a 94 SJ with a limited set up and now own that same ski today. was really easy to learn on since the are huge for an 8 year old hahah

As for the one advertised. I like the idea since when i have kids they will be riding for sure, but just don't like how it looks at all. wonder what the motor specs, pump size, etc are.

Denying younger generations the opportunity to get involved in the sport is like wishing that it won't ever grow.

Assume they're available here:
Kid wants one, parents don't ride. They get one for their kid and end up buying a stand up for themselves.
Not the most likely scenario (likely that most parents would buy a couch) but why not get kids interested? With more demand there could be a push find and finance a replacement for the 2 stroke, new mass manufactures, maybe the OEM's will pick it back up..... I just don't see the problem.

I guess the difference is that I have kids and I see a value/ market for this. I don't see the issue with having to 'share my riding spot'. Probably because my riding spot is a lake...

a 200$ skate board or bmx bike seems like a more realistic option... not many partents can afford a 3k+ toy for their kids assuming that an adult cant even use this worthless contraption. if you really want to get your kids into the sport buy an old js and build it with them to show how much work it really is to keep skis maintained and working properly instead of giving them something that they will grow out of and then becomes worth half what you paid for it. i see no market at all for this.

Just tell your wife that the Circus freak (or any other small ski) is made for kids and that it needs a big motor to weigh it down so it does go so fast. lol

This ski looke like a good idea but looks kind of lame. I have a cherry 92 550sx for my kids when they are ready. I 1st rode a 550 when I was 8 and think thats a good age to start them. I had my daughter standing in the tray of sxr this past summer while I kneeled behind her and rode around just on plane at 1/3 throttle.

I think a lot of this comes down to parenting and teaching them the rules of riding etiquette, along with boaters safety class. My daughter got her license right after she turned 14 (Legal riding age in NV) My kids are too big for this sized ski, but if they weren't, I'd be looking into it for sure. I think it's awesome someone is building them! Pretty stoked actually.

the market is probably the rest of the market who dont come on this forum

there will be many kids surfing the net looking at cool stuff coming across you tube videos etc and asking parents for a jet ski

alot of parents who know nothing about skis would probably prefer to buy something new rather than used

i actually think this company is being smart and seeing a market, plus the bonus is bringing in new blood to our sport who may otherwise not be exposed unless they have a family member who already jet skis

i would also doubt its targeting a budget market as there are a number of middle aged families with you kids who have disposable income

I don't think a kiddie standup is needed. I had my 8 and 12 year old stepkids riding my Trinity no problem. The great thing about stand-ups is they can't go fast if they don't have the skills, because they will fall. So speed is limited right away.

In general, it is difficult for a beginner to hurt a standup because they aren't good enough riders yet.

I think it's a great idea. If they think they can make a buck at it ..... I found a 300 sx locally not many details other than he wants 75 bucks for it and it was running great when it was parked 10 years ago. Might track it down and leave it at a family farm pond for my kids and nephews.
