650/X-2 new starter

installed new starter on 650sx stated right up shut it off now it sounds like the starter is just spinning everytime i try to start it. wrong wires somewhere? flywheel? battery IS fully charged. where do i go from here?

Guess i take it back out and check it out

Pull your flywheel cover and remove your flywheel to inspect your bendix. Looks for missing teeth and check to see if the bendix is spinning out by hand.

either the starter is not all teh way in or teh bendix is not engaging .. the bendix is not part of the starter ona 650sx .. I have seen a few bendix s that just need to be lubed up and sometimes even possible to free it up by working it back and forth behind the flywheel without removing it if you get lucky ..

Harbor freight sells a harmonic balancer puller for like $15. Just pop the flywheel off. It's not a big deal. Soak the bendix in ATF and see if it starts working right.
