New Superjet - Anyone?

I'm not seeing much here or anywhere about new owners of the new Superjet. I figure that is largely due to its continued scarcity, they just aren't readily available for purchase yet. However, on a whim I just called a local dealer and they have a '23 in stock. The sales person said they don't expect to get them delivered in quantity until late Spring, and this one was probably an advance unit.

Now I'm wondering whether to pull the trigger on this one before it gets snatched up. It would be easier if I've been hearing lots of great things from new owners about their new Superjets, but I haven't.

If any of you are out there that have been able to purchase one, sing out here about your thoughts on it. I know it's not as fun as the old 2 stroke version, so no need to belabor that. However, feel free to compare it to the even bigger boned SXR 1500 if you like.

I have one. It’s a fun machine to have but I would be bummed if it were my only ski. Great ski for my parents to ride when the family comes out. Bad ski for newbies (who actually wanna progress and learn stand ups) to learn on because it makes them think they can ride too easily. It doesn’t teach balance or body English because it’s so buoyant.

Stock steering must be changed to make the ski turn well.
Power is decent and throttle response is nice. Ski is great for eating chop so depending in the size/conditions of your body of water, it might be nice.

Buoys- check.
Rec riding/cruising/good times at the lake/river -check.

Freestyle/air time- nope.

Some good info here on mods:

Thanks, Quinc. Good info there, but a little depressing regarding their thoughts to the stock ski. That's a lot of AM $ to throw at an expensive brand new ski.

KDZ, great quote: "great ski for my parents to ride"

Y'all aren't making me feel the need to rush out to get that '23. I'll wait and ponder, meanwhile keeping my eye out for a used 2s to become available in my SoCal area.

Sold my nicely modded 2015 sj to a friend thinking I wanted a new sj since I had a flatwater ski to play on .
Bought the 2022 sj and had it about 6 days before selling it to an older guy in our riding group . Actually bought the 2015 back after friend bought an edge.
If I was getting a rec ski my choices would be rn 08+, or a 1500 depending on if you wanting more of a lake cruiser/racer or something to jump boat wakes.
The new superjet is down 6 mph on a 1500, less acceleration, doesn’t jump wakes compared to a 2 stroke sj , and I didn’t find the handling to be very good .
