I picked up a new 05 sxr this spring and it's very hard to start the first time after sitting for a week. It takes about 5 minutes of intermittent cranking to get it to fire - but after the first start it fires right up the rest of the day.
I'm still breaking it in but it seems to run great and doesn't seem like there are any carb/compression issues or anything.
Any secrets with the choke/throttle that will get it going easier? I turn the choke full on and don't touch the throttle til it fires. I had an old 750sx and that seemed to be the best way to get it going.
I know a primer would probably solve the problem but I'm looking for possible issues or suggestions with the stock set-up first.
