300/440/550 New to 550's-pulling motor

Hey guys, This is not Showmepro1200, but it is his son, he's letting me use his name. Thanks dad. Anyway I am pulling a 550 motor from an 85 550 and i have everything ready to pull out except when i went to look at the electrics it looks like the stop start switch wire runs continuously from the switch to the CDI box with no disconnect. How do you disconnect this? Does it require some disassembling of the CDI box or is there some little key point i'm missing? Thanks for all the help guys!

You should be able to pull the motor without pulling the electrical box. If I remember right, there's one cable that runs from the fly wheel back to the electrical box... where that goes into the box there should be a bullet shaped connector that you can unscrew and then the wires are plugged together. Don't remember for sure whether you have to split the box or not to get to the connectors but it's not difficult.

Yes, i've seen those "bullet" connectors and that's what im askign about, does anoyone know if i have to take apart the CDI box to disconnect the those wires???

im pretty sure once you unscrew the plastic piece it is just bullet connections, 4 i believe.....
