Pull everything out of hull today. Leakdown tested 8 psi for 10 minutes. Compression 170 on each cylinder. Got it to fire up. Sounded fine. Going to replaced started and bendix. Clean ing it up......... let her rip. Will rebuild and paint this winter. The broken head bolt seems not critical at this point. Thx everyone.

Do yourself a favor and Pb blaster that bolt before you let her sit.

I can't imagine that will not be a problem! You will eventually get blow by at that spot on the head gasket, no? That should be a quick fix man!

I wouldn't runt it either with that broken bolt. If the Engine is out already you might as well fix it now and spend the summer on the water...

My buddy had the same issue on his 1100 conversion. He took it to a local machine shop and had them put in in a mill. They drilled it out and didn't damage any of the threads.

Its one of the bolts in the middle. If it was on the outside I think it would leak. I think the center has surrounding support. Im sick of wrenching on poop. If it blows up Ill be down to just a SJ. If that blows up Ill have to ride my GP1200. I can wrench when its -20 degrees in February. Now lets go ride Matt

I wouldn't run it like that, as others have said. It's dangerous. I had a head come loose once and it ended up with a rather large explosion.

I know it's not the exact same situation, but if the head does manage to come loose a little, enough to fill the engine compartment with gas, yeah.

Unbelieveable.........this is my biggest amateur move to date. I assumed bolt was snapped....lol....it was just missing. Went to my big box of stainless and just for the hell of it tried a spare bolt.......fixed.

I'm down for it pretty much any time. Usually throw in at dempsys and go to the sandbar. I have a double I usually bring with me, so it's cool.
