Mix it 40:1. Make sure your battery is always charged.
First upgrade to make is an exhaust.
Second upgrade to make is a stainless steel prop.
Third upgrade is a 701 engine.
Check all of your nuts, bolts, hose clamps, fuel lines, water lines, etc before you ride it.

Nice start, let's see a pic of the engine compartment. Can't imagine a paint scheme like that without a B pipe.

I bought a real ratty superjet 650 and put a nice 701 in it and am impeller.

sorry guys i have a couple of more questions well i talked my brother in to buying a jetski last night so he picked up a older kawasaki 550 a 1989 and i was wondering what oil to gas ratio you guys would run? it has a factory B pipe and an K&n. thanks for your help

You have the exact two skis that I have- a 1991 SJ and a 1989 550. I believe the 550 should say what ratio to run right above the gas cap. If memory serves, it should be 40:1 in warm conditions, and 32:1 in cold conditions.

Door any of you guys know what this plug goes to. 1989 550 kawi
