I've only ridden an sj and an sxr, but man do i love my sj. So easy to whip around and so nimble.

I would go SJ right off the bat. Just my opinion.

I have ridden a Kawi 650sx and 750sx. I loved my 750sx for a long time and got really annoyed that everyone claimed the yamaha's were better than the kawi's. However, once I bought a yamaha superjet, my 750sx sat on the boat lift pretty much all summer. My intention was to use it as my backup ski but even when I broke something on the SJ, I preferred wrenching on a broken yamaha instead of riding a working kawi. Just my 2 cents but something to consider from a previous kawi lover.
