New to the sport.

Just got interested in riding freestyle after I wrecked on a Seadoo last summer. I think the wreck actually made me want to get out and ride more. But anyway, my question is this summer I plan to buy a new or fairly good used (probably this one) Jet Ski, and I was wondering what types/prices I should look for... I am surrounded by lakes in my home town (Hot Springs, AR), but rarely see jet skis out. Thanks guys

Yamahs Superjet for freestyle or the Kawasaki Sxr 800 for more race type people.
You couldn't go wrong with either of these skis for a first ski.

All depends on what type of riding you plan to do... Typically freestyle/freeriders like the yamaha superjet as it's lighter and smaller while racers are liking the Kawasaki SX-R 800. Although there are great riders who can do big tricks on just about anything they ride.

Should be able to find yourself a decent used superjet for under $3k i would think.

Whatever you wind up be interested in, just check it over thoroughly and if you need questions answered this is the place to ask. There are a lot of really good people on here with a LOT of experience to help you get started.

And dont be afraid to ask anything...

If you want to do serious Freestyle, find a SuperJet. Or if you think you are going to keep the ski mostly stock and just ride it (like that will ever happen hanging out around here) an SXR would work well for ya.

Thanks guys. Ive definately already made up the mind on wanting to do freestyle. Yea I pretty much hate seadoos now. They suck big time. I wont be getting one until around summer time probably since I am in college right now with no job. Im probably gonna pull a loan and need to make sure I can pay it off, so I am just gonna keep researching and hope to find a good one. I found this site today (honestly dont know how I happened to come to it, but Im glad I did).

Yea I will be on the look out for one. Not too sure where table rock is (guess I could look it up), but I know on the 18th of this month, Ill be chilling with some of my custom truck club members up in Willow Springs, MO, driving through springfield (on the interstate). During the summers, I usually work on Lake Ouachita in Hot Springs, AR and the Scuba Shop.

And no I didnt transfer over from either of those sites... I was just checking out some info on freestyle **** and some link from somewhere brought me here and I sure am glad it did.

Stillwater resort had a 440 and a 550 to rent. All I had to do was fill them up with gas when I was done because nobody ever rented them.:frown:

HAHA Yea I think the SuperJet is embedded in my brain now. Right now my price range is super cheap or free. I dont have a job at the moment, but this summer when I have a job, I will be able to pull a loan, but I really dont want to have to spend an ass load. The lower the better... Why you know of one for sale?

sounds like your looking for a square nose. it will be 500-1000 probably. you could get a 550 or something cheaper but i kick myself everyday for going that rout. i will let you know if i hear of anything. be prepared to travel though.

yea well we actually used to have a 550 wayyyy back in the day... it was my brothers and it broke down one day and he gave it to a friend to fix it, and that friend gave it to someone else to fix it, and well long story short, we havent seen it in like 7 years. I like the appearance of newer ones, but whatever gets me on the water this summer and starting to learn some tricks is good with me. Hell I would even piece one together from just a hull if I could find someone willing to part with one. But please do tell me if you find ANYTHING worth getting. I dont have much $ right now, but I could always ebay a bunch of **** and come up with some.

ive been trying to get down to lake oachita for somne time now, my grandparents are in Benton, and they camp there everysummer.

maybe this year i can make the schedule work, we could hook up and ride.

If I come Ill bring both superjets...
