SXR New (Used) SXR thought....

So I'm a "mature" guy thats been ridding stand ups since the 80's.....I have a rather healthy 650sx now and just scored a gently used 2007 Sxr.

Its BONE STOCK...grips, mat and all! less than 50 hours on it.

Suggestions on what to do to it first?

48mph stock seems kinda slow....

Background of riding:
I ride Lake Erie mostly and love speed yet love to freestyle and jump the wake of the Jet Express and any of those 70' Hatteras wakes coming to Put-in-Bay or leaving!

Open and looking for suggestions!

1. wet pipe/ rejet carbs
2. lightened flywheel / am head / change grate and ride plate
3. blueprint pump / change prop / add cone

each one of these steps should show an increase in power. once combined make a perfect package for an all around ski.

48 mph is too slow for ya!!?!? SXR is one of fastest stock standup jet ski

J/k.......

Just like what rizk828 said those are good parts for more power. Wetpipe FTW..... maybe a DryPipe but it doesn't give good low end like the Wetpipe does

1. Wetpipe
2. Light Flywheel, mill head.
3. KEEP GRATE AND PLATE STOCK, especially if you are used to a 650. (plus more top end)
4. FOOTHOLDS, to get bigger air.
5. zero or 4 degree bars

First things first, get a spring tentioner on that stock pole. This will save your lower back. Also it would not hurt to install a bilge pump and switch. Then move to grips/bars/shortened turn plate. If you like jumping high, I would highly recomend a pole limiter rope. Stock poles are not known to hold up well. I would also recommend a intake grate. I found the stock one just sucks but a TBM with a stock plate or stock Dcut plate works great. Jumper the stock air temp sensor to advance your timing and give you a little more low end snap. Once you get all the basics done, go for power. Pipe, head, prop, and flywheel will be good starting points.
